- a motor comprising a motor winding;
an inverter assembly comprising at least one inverter module, wherein the inverter assembly is mounted directly onto the motor such that the inverter assembly is in intimate contact with the motor, wherein the motor winding is fed directly into the inverter assembly;
a bus bar located outside the at least one inverter module and configured to receive a current from the at least one inverter module, wherein the motor winding is directly connected to the bus bar located outside the at least one inverter module wherein the motor winding is configured to receive the current, and wherein the bus bar directly couples the motor winding to the inverter module.

a connection system which couples the motor to the inverter modules, wherein the connection system comprises;
a plurality of bus bars located outside the inverter sub-modules and inside the inverter assembly, wherein each of the bus bars is coupled to a corresponding one of the sub-modules and directly receives a current from the corresponding one of the sub-modules the bus bar is coupled to, wherein each of the bus bars is directly connected to a corresponding one of the windings outside the corresponding inverter module, and wherein the bus bars directly couple corresponding ones of the windings to the inverter modules. - View Dependent Claims (5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13)

a dual wound motor having a plurality of motor windings;
an inverter assembly mounted directly onto the motor such that the inverter assembly is in intimate contact with the motor, wherein the motor windings are fed directly into the inverter assembly, and wherein the inverter assembly comprises a plurality of inverter modules each comprising a plurality of inverter sub-modules, wherein each of the sub-modules generates a current; and
an AC interconnection system which couples the dual wound motor to the inverter modules, wherein the AC interconnection system comprises;
a plurality of bus bars each being located outside the inverter sub-modules and inside the inverter assembly, wherein each of the bus bars are directly coupled to one of the inverter sub-modules, and wherein each of the bus bars is configured to receive the current generated by a corresponding sub-module the bus bar is coupled to, wherein each of the bus bars is directly connected to a corresponding one of the motor windings outside the inverter modules and wherein each of the bus bars provides the current to the corresponding one of the motor windings the bus bar is coupled to, and wherein each of the bus bars directly couples the corresponding one of the motor windings to the corresponding inverter module the bus bar is coupled to. - View Dependent Claims (15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25)
