1. A method comprising:
- selecting a vertebral body having an interior volume occupied, at least in part, by cancellous bone, establishing a percutaneous path into the vertebral body, conveying a first bone filling material through the percutaneous path to compress a region of the cancellous bone, conveying a second bone filling material through the percutaneous path to enlarge the region, and leaving the first and second bone filling materials in the enlarged region.

Abstract
A percutaneous path is established into a vertebral body, having an interior volume occupied, at least in part, by cancellous bone. A first bone filling material is conveyed through the percutaneous path into a region of the cancellous bone. A second bone filling material is conveyed through the percutaneous path into the region. The first and second bone filling materials can, e.g., incrementally create then enlarge a compressed region of cancellous bone, or displace the fractured cortical bone in increments.

9. A method comprising:
-
selecting a vertebral body having an interior volume occupied, at least in part, by cancellous bone, the vertebral body having at least one cortical plate that is depressed due to fracture;
establishing a percutaneous path into the vertebral body;
inserting a first bone filling material through the percutaneous path into the vertebral body causing the fractured cortical plate to be displaced; and
inserting a second bone filling material through the percutaneous path into the vertebral body causing further displacement of the fractured cortical plate. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15)
