Abstract

A system and method for dynamically generating a web page is disclosed. The web page includes a frame having content cells. Content for the content cells is provided based in part on business rules. A business rules engine processes, in real-time, an online interaction and determines appropriate content for the content cells. The business rules engine outputs a pointer to the content which is used to populate the content cell.

Claims

1. A method of dynamically generating web pages comprising:

receiving a request for a web page from a browser;

providing the web page to the browser, the web page including at least one content cell;

receiving a request for content for said content cell from the browser;

analyzing the request for content, said analysis based in part on business rules, the business rules engine processes, in real-time, an online interaction and determines appropriate content; and

providing the content to the browser.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

providing the request for content to a server dedicated to analyze requests for content and provide the content.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the request for the web page is received by a first server and the dedicated server provides the content to the first server.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the request for the web page is received by the dedicated server and the dedicated server provides the content and the web page.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the web page includes a plurality of cells and the cells are populated simultaneously.

6. A method of dynamically generating web page content comprising:

receiving a request for web page cell content;

processing, in real-time, the request and an online interaction and determining appropriate content, said analysis based in part on business rules; and

providing the web page cell content.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the web page includes a plurality of cells and the cells are populated simultaneously.

8. A system for dynamically generating web pages comprising:

a first server adapted to receive a request for a web page and provide a web page in response to the request, the web page including at least one content cell, the content cell including at least one content request;

a second server adapted to receive the content request; and

a rule engine, said rule engine adapted to receive the content request and determine content based in part on the request,

wherein the second server provides the content to the first server.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the web page includes a plurality of content cells and the content cells are populated simultaneously.

10. A system for dynamically generating web pages comprising:

a first server adapted to receive a request for a web page and provide a web page in response to the request, the web page including at least one content cell, the content cell including at least one content request;

a second server adapted to receive the content requests; and

a rule engine, said rule engine adapted to receive the content request and determine content based in part on the request,

wherein the second server provides the content to the web page.

11. The system of claim 10, wherein the web page includes a plurality of content cells and the second server is adapted to populate the content cells simultaneously.

12. A system for dynamically generating and providing a web page in response to a request, the web page including at least one content cell, the content cells including content requests comprising:

a first server adapted to receive the content requests; and

a rule engine, said rule engine adapted to receive the content request and determine content based in part on the request.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the web page includes a plurality of content cells and the rule engine is adapted to provide a pointer to the content.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the plurality of content cells are populated simultaneously.

15. A dynamic web page comprising:

a frame including at least one content cell, the content cell including a request for content;

wherein the content is rendered with a template and provided in real-time based on at least one rule, the rule comprising at least one condition based on visitor activity on a site and at least one action and, wherein the frame is adapted to be turned on and off.

16. The dynamic web page of claim 15, further comprising:

a plurality of content cells, wherein the plurality of content cells are populated simultaneously.
