1. A light activated image recording medium, comprising:

  • a substrate, optionally, a color layer; and

a layer comprising a light-scattering pigment that becomes at least translucent when heated to a predetermined temperature, wherein at least one of said substrate, color layer, if present, and said layer comprising said light-scattering pigment includes an antenna having a peak absorbance wavelength or wavelength range matching a predetermined near infrared wavelength or wavelength range, such that said antenna causes localized heating of said medium when said antenna absorbs radiation in said predetermined near infrared wavelength or wavelength range.
