Abstract

An apparatus for providing a feature in a network environment is provided that includes a central web site operable to interface with one or more end users and to manage information related to one or more of the end users. The central web site offers a test that includes a set of questions for one or more of the end users to complete, whereby the central web site is operable to process answers for the test in order to offer potential candidates for the end users to evaluate.

Claims

1. An apparatus for providing a feature in a network environment, comprising:

a central web site operable to interface with one or more end users and to manage information related to one or more of the end users, wherein the central web site offers a test that includes a set of questions for one or more of the end users to complete, whereby the central web site is operable to process answers for the test in order to offer potential candidates for the end users to evaluate.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the test is used to establish a personality profile for one or more of the end users.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the questions are in a multiple choice question format, a true/false format, or a yes/no format.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein some of the test includes a portion of a Myers Briggs test.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the answers are compiled and leveraged in order to offer future potential candidates for one or more of the end users.

6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the test is associated with a job seeking service, a person finder service, an athletic service, a real estate service, an academic service, a real estate finding service, or an escort service.

7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the test is configured to facilitate an on-line dating operation such that one or more of the end users are capable of interacting in order to find candidates that match their interests.

8. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein characteristics evoked by the test are displayed for the first end user in a graphical illustration that reflects the first end user'"'"'s characteristics in comparison with the second end user'"'"'s characteristics.

9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the test militates one or more of the end users being placed in categories of personality types, and wherein a given end user can have a major personality type and a minor personality type.

10. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the categories include explorer, director, builder, and negotiator.

11. A method for providing a feature in a network environment using a central web site, comprising:

interfacing with one or more end users;

managing information related to one or more of the end users; and

providing a set of questions for one or more of the end users to complete, whereby the central web site is operable to process answers for the test in order to offer potential candidates for the end users to evaluate.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the test is used to establish a personality profile for one or more of the end users.

13. The method of claim 11, wherein the questions are in a multiple choice question format, a true/false format, or a yes/no format.

14. The method of claim 11, wherein some of the test includes a portion of a Myers Briggs test.

15. The method of claim 11, further comprising:

compiling the answers in order to offer future potential candidates for one or more of the end users.

16. The method of claim 11, wherein the test is associated with a job seeking service, a person finder service, an athletic service, a real estate service, an academic service, a real estate finding service, or an escort service.

17. The method of claim 11, wherein characteristics evoked by the test are displayed for the first end user in a graphical illustration that reflects the first end user'"'"'s characteristics in comparison with the second end user'"'"'s characteristics.

18. The method of claim 11, wherein the test militates one or more of the end users being placed in categories of personality types, and wherein a given end user can have a major personality type and a minor personality type.

19. A system for providing a feature in a network environment using a central web site, comprising:

means for interfacing with one or more end users;

means for managing information related to one or more of the end users; and

means for providing a set of questions for one or more of the end users to complete, whereby the central web site is operable to process answers for the test in order to offer potential candidates for the end users to evaluate.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein the test is used to establish a personality profile for one or more of the end users.

21. The system of claim 19, wherein the questions are in a multiple choice question format, a true/false format, or a yes/no format.

22. The system of claim 19, wherein some of the test includes a portion of a Myers Briggs test.

23. The system of claim 19, further comprising:

means for compiling the answers in order to offer future potential candidates for one or more of the end users.

24. The system of claim 19, wherein the test is associated with a job seeking service, a person finder service, an athletic service, a real estate service, an academic service, a real estate finding service, or an escort service.

25. The system of claim 19, wherein characteristics evoked by the test are displayed for the first end user in a graphical illustration that reflects the first end user'"'"'s characteristics in comparison with the second end user'"'"'s characteristics.

26. Software for providing a feature in a network environment, the software being embodied in a computer readable medium and comprising computer code such that when executed is operable to:

interface with one or more end users;

manage information related to one or more of the end users;

provide a set of questions for one or more of the end users to complete; and

display a comparison of answers for the questions that are submitted by a first end user and a second end user.

27. The medium of claim 26, wherein the test is used to establish a personality profile for one or more of the end users.

28. The medium of claim 26, wherein the questions are in a multiple choice question format, a true/false format, or a yes/no format.

29. The medium of claim 26, wherein some of the test includes a portion of a Myers Briggs test.

30. The medium of claim 26, wherein the code is further operable to:

compile the answers in order to offer future potential candidates for one or more of the end users.

31. The medium of claim 26, wherein the test is associated with a job seeking service, a person finder service, an athletic service, a real estate service, an academic service, a real estate finding service, or an escort service.
