1. A method of simulating a vehicle control comprising:
- displaying an image of a vehicle control device on a touch screen;
detecting positional changes in a touch input provided to the touch screen; and
rotating the displayed device image by an amount and in a direction detetermined at least in part in response to the detected touch input positional changes, wherein said rotation amount and direction is used to change the course of a simulated vehicle displayed on a further screen.

Abstract
A vehicle simulation such as for example a driving game can be provided by displaying an image of a steering wheel on a touch sensitive screen. Touch inputs are used to control the rotational orientation of displayed steering wheel. The rotational orientation of the displayed steering wheel is used to apply course correction effects to a simulated vehicle. Selective application of driver assist and different scaling of touch inputs may be provided.

9. A method of providing a simulated vehicle control input comprising:
-
contacting a touch sensitive surface at a first point;
moving said touching contact from said first point to a second point;
calculating the angle between a first vector defined between a predetermined point and said first point, and a second vector defined between said predetermined point and said second point; and
applying a simulated steering correction to a simulated vehicle at least in part in response to the angle formed between said first and second vectors.

10. A vehicle simulation apparatus comprising:
-
a portable handheld housing including first display screen, a second display screen and at least one control input;
a first graphics processing unit that displays an image of a simulated control device on said first display;
a second graphics processing unit that displays an image of a simulated vehicle on said second display;
a processor, coupled to said first and second graphics processing units and to said control input device, said processor changing said displayed image of said control input device in a predetermined manner by a predetermined amount responsive to said user input, and applying a corresponding course correction to said simulated vehicle displayed on said second display. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17)
