1. A wireless network system having a transmission frame period having a preset duration, comprising:

  • an access point (AP) for transmitting in the transmission frame period a power save multi-poll (PSMP) frame providing a downlink period and an initial uplink period to at least one station (STA) a sub PSMP frame providing an additional uplink period sufficient to transmit at least part of remaining queued uplink data; and

    an STA for, if the initial uplink period provided by the PSMP frame is insufficient to transmit queued data, transmitting in the initial uplink period a part of the queued data and a resource request message requesting an allocation of additional resources for remaining queued data, receiving in the transmission frame period the sub PSMP frame providing by the AP an additional uplink period, the sub PSMP frame being transmitted by the AP after all of the periods provided by the PSMP frame, and transmitting the at least pert of the remaining queued data to the AP in the additional uplink period indicated by the sub PSMP frame.
