Abstract

A method of switching a speech channel in a mobile telephone system comprising an interface between a Base Station System (BSS) (1) communicating with a Mobile Switching Center (MSC) (5) via a transmission connection (3), where the speech channels of an originating subscriber (8) and a dialled-up subscriber (9), both of whom are located on the BSS (1) side of the transmission connection (3), are connected in a local switcher (2).

Claims

1. An antimicrobial composition comprising:

a) an alcohol in an amount from about 60 to about 95 weight percent of the total composition;

b) a preservative in an amount from about 0.001 to about 5.0 weight percent of the total composition;

c) a thickening agent in an amount from about 0.01 to about 3 weight percent of the total composition wherein said thickening agent is a cationic cellulose polymer;

d) a moisturizer and/or emollient in an amount from about 0.005 to about 5.0 weight percent of the total composition;

e) a cationic emulsifier in an amount from about 0.01 to about 3 weight percent of the total composition

f) water in an amount from about 6 to about 30 weight percent.

2. The composition of claim 1 wherein the cationic emulsifier is a cationic quaternary ammonium salt.

3. The composition of claim 1 wherein the alcohol is selected from the group consisting of ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol and n-propyl alcohol and mixtures thereof.

4. The composition of claim 1 wherein the preservative is a mixture of benzenethonium chloride from about 0.02 to about 1.0 percent by weight and benzalkonium chloride from about 0.02 to about 1.0 percent by weight and chlorhexidine gluconate from about 0.01 to about 2.0 percent by weight.

5. The composition of claim 1 which additionally contains an effective amount of diazolidinyl urea and 3-Iodo-propynylbutylcarbamate.

6. The composition of claim 5 wherein the total amount of diazolidinyl urea and 3-Iodo-propynylbutylcarbamate is from about 0.05 to about 0.5 percent by weight.

7. The composition of claim 5 which additionally contains an effective amount;

methyl paraben, propyl paraben, and propylene glycol.

8. The composition of claim 7 wherein the total amount of diazolindinyl urea, methyl paraben propyl paraben, and propylene glycol is from about 0.05 to about 2.0 percent by weight.

9. A method of disinfecting a substrate comprising the step of applying to the substrate an effective amount of the antimicrobial composition of claim 1.

10. The method of claim 9 wherein the substrate is the hand.

11. The method of claim 9 further comprising the step of applying an antimicrobial formulation of alcohol to the substrate.

12. The composition of claim 1 wherein the preservative is one or more of the compounds selected from the group consisting of parachlorometaxylenol, phenoxy ethanol, benzalkonium chloride, benzethonium chloride, chlorhexidine gluconate, chlorhexidine diacetate, hexetidine, triclosan.

13. The composition of claim 1 wherein said moisturizer and/or emollient is one or more of the compounds selected from the group consisting of mineral oil, dimethicone, glycerin, isopropyl palmitate, propylene glycol, petrolatum, and squalane.

14. An antimicrobial composition comprising:

a) an alcohol in an amount from about 60 to about 95 weight percent of the total composition;

b) a preservative in an amount from about 0.001 to about 5.0 weight percent of the total composition wherein said preservative is one or more of the compounds selected from the group consisting of parachlorometaxylenol, phenoxy ethanol, benzalkonium chloride, benzethonium chloride, chlorhexidine gluconate, chlorhexidine diacetate, hexetidine, triclosan;

c) a thickening agent in an amount from about 0.01 to about 3 weight percent of the total composition wherein said thickening agent is a cationic cellulose polymer;

d) a cationic emulsifier in an amount from about 0.01 to about 3 weight percent of the total composition;

e) a moisturizer and/or emollient in an amount from about 0.005 to about 5.0 weight percent of the total composition wherein said moisturizer and/or emollient is one or more of the compounds selected from the group consisting of mineral oil, dimethicone, glycerin, isopropyl palmitate, propylene glycol, petrolatum, squalane and 25% active solution of behenyl trimonium methosulfate in cetearyl alcohol; and

f) water in an amount from about 6 to about 30 weight percent.

15. The composition of claim 14 wherein the cationic emulsifier is a cationic quaternary ammonium salt.

16. The composition of claim 14 wherein the alcohol is selected from the group consisting of ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol and n-propyl alcohol and mixtures thereof.

17. The composition of claim 14 wherein the preservative is a mixture of benzenethonium chloride from about 0.02 to about 1.0 percent by weight and benzalkonium chloride from about 0.02 to about 1.0 percent by weight and chlorhexidine gluconate from about 0.01 to about 2.0 percent by weight.

18. The composition of claim 14 which additionally contains an effective amount of diazolidinyl urea and 3-Iodo-propynylbutylcarbamate.

19. The composition of claim 18 wherein the total amount of diazolidinyl urea and 3-Iodo-propynylbutylcarbamate is from about 0.05 to about 0.5 percent by weight.

20. The composition of claim 19 which additionally contains an effective amount;

methyl paraben, propyl paraben, and propylene glycol.

21. The composition of claim 20 wherein the total amount of diazolindinyl urea, methyl paraben propyl paraben, and propylene glycol is from about 0.05 to about 2.0 percent by weight.

22. A method of disinfecting a substrate comprising the step of applying to the substrate an effective amount of the antimicrobial composition of claim 14.

23. The method of claim 22 wherein the substrate is the hand.

24. The method of claim 22 further comprising the step of applying a solution of chlorhexidine gluconate.

25. The composition of claim 14 which additionally contains a fragrance.

26. The composition of claim 14 which additionally contains a colorant.
