Abstract

A mobile communication terminal having a function of displaying a communication state and a method thereof are disclosed. The method of displaying a communication state in a case of a multiparty call using a mobile communication terminal having a plurality of display units includes displaying information on one calling party on a first display unit, and displaying information on the other calling party on a second display unit. Here, information on one calling party and information on another calling party can be switched with each other and displayed on the different display units, and therefore voice communication is possible between one or more of the parties at the same time.

Claims

1. A method of displaying a communication state in a case of a multiparty call using a mobile communication terminal having a plurality of display units, comprising

displaying information on one calling party on a first display unit;

and

displaying information on the other calling party on a second display unit,

wherein information on one calling party and information on another calling party can be switched with each other and displayed, and

voice communication is possible between one or more of the parties at the same time.

2. The method according to claim 1,

wherein the one calling party, who is displayed on one of the first display unit or the second display unit, is in a communication state and the other calling party is in idle state.

3. The method according to claim 1,

wherein the calling parties in the conversation state and the idle state are displayed in different forms on the display units.

4. The method according to claim 3,

wherein the displaying method includes a highlighting method.

5. The method according to claim 1,

wherein the information switching method is performed by a button or drag by a predetermined length.

6. The method according to claim 1,

wherein the display information includes an avatar, an image, or a picture.

7. The method according to claim 1,

wherein the display information may additionally include information on calling party'"'"'s name and telephone number.

8. The method according to claim 1,

wherein at least one of the display units is a touch screen.

9. The method according to claim 1,

wherein the information on the calling party and information on the other calling party are horizontally or vertically displayed on the same display unit.

10. The method according to claim 1,

wherein when a call is received from a third calling party during the call, caller information on the third calling party is displayed as information on the calling party in an idle state on one of the display units.

11. The method of claim 10,

wherein a secrete call is possible during the three party call such that another person cannot listen to the secrete call.

12. The method according to claim 1,

wherein the displayed information includes an identifier for differentiating calling parties from each other in the case of the multiparty call.

13. The method according to claim 1,

wherein the call can be made by a speaker phone during the multiparty call.

14. The method according to claim 11,

wherein the selection is made by any one of a button, a touch screen, or a jog-dial.

15. A mobile communication terminal that is capable of displaying a communication state, comprising:

a memory unit that stores information on a plurality of calling parties;

a plurality of display units that display the calling parties, respectively;

an input unit that receives any one of a signal for switching the displayed parties with each other or a signal for selective communication; and

a control unit that controls a communication state and a display state of the display unit according to the signal from the input unit.

16. The terminal according to claim 15,

wherein the control unit displays a calling party engaged in a communication on any one of the plurality of display units, and displays a calling party in an idle state on another display unit.

17. The terminal according to claim 16,

wherein the control unit switches the parties with each other on the different display units according to whether the parties are in the communication state or in the idle state.

18. The terminal according to claim 15,

wherein selection for the communication mode or call information display is made by any one of a button, a touch screen, or a jog-dial.

19. A mobile communication terminal that is capable of displaying a communication state, comprising:

a memory unit that stores information on a plurality of calling parties;

a plurality of display units that display the calling parties, respectively;

an input unit that receives a signal for communication with the plurality of parties at the same time; and

a control unit that controls to allow the communication with the plurality of parties at the same time according to the signal from the input unit.

20. The terminal according to claim 19,

wherein when a call is received from a third calling party during the call, the control unit receives a call select signal through the input unit and starts a three party call, and controls to display information on the parties on the same display unit.

21. The terminal according to claim 19,

wherein the memory unit stores as display information, identifier information for differentiating the parties from each other in a case of a multiparty call, and displays the identifier information on the display unit under the control of the control unit.

22. The terminal according to claim 19,

wherein the control unit displays the information on the parties engaged in the multiparty call on one display unit in response to user'"'"'s selection, and at the same time, displays the information on the parties that is arranged in a desired predetermined direction.

23. The terminal according to claim 19,

wherein the control unit controls the display units, and when there is a calling party who transmits data, displays the calling party on the display unit in a highlight mode or the like so as to check the calling party.

24. The terminal according to claim 19,

wherein the input unit outputs an information switching signal to the control unit by a button or drag by a predetermined length, and the control unit switches and displays the information on the different display units.

25. The terminal according to claim 19,

wherein the memory unit stores as display information, an avatar, an image, a picture, a name, or telephone number information, and displays the display information on the display unit under the control of the control unit.

26. The terminal according to claim 19,

wherein at least one of the display units is a touch screen.

27. The terminal according to claim 19,

wherein selection for the communication mode or call information display is made by any one of a button, a touch screen, or a jog-dial.

28. The terminal according to claim 19,

wherein the control unit performs a secrete communication operation such that another person cannot listen to the secrete communication during a three party call.

29. The terminal according to claim 19,

wherein the control unit allows a communication by performing a speaker phone in a case of a multiparty call.
