Abstract

Viewing devices are disclosed herein. One embodiment of a viewing device is a digital camera having at least one function. And embodiment of the digital camera comprises a touch pad, wherein in which a stylus that is moved relative to the touch pad is detectable by the digital camera. The speed at which the function is performed corresponds to the speed that the stylus is moved relative to the touch pad.

Claims

1. A digital camera having at least one function, said digital camera comprising:

a touch pad, wherein in which a stylus that is moved relative to said touch pad is detectable by said digital camera;

wherein the speed at which said function is performed corresponds to said speed that said stylus is moved relative to said touch pad.

The digital camera of claim 1 and further comprising a display, wherein previously captured images are displayable on said display, wherein said at least one function comprises displaying said previously captured images on said display, and wherein the speed that said previously captured images are displayed corresponds to said speed of said stylus relative to said touch pad.

The digital camera of claim 2, wherein said previously captured images are displayed in a first order when said stylus is moved in a first direction relative to said touch pad and wherein said images are displayed in a second order when said stylus is moved in a second direction relative to said touch pad.

The digital camera of claim 1 and further comprising a display, wherein a video clip is displayable on said display, wherein said at least one function comprises displaying said video clip on said display, and wherein the speed that frames of said video clip are displayed corresponds to said speed of said stylus relative to said touch pad.

5. The digital camera of claim 4, wherein said frames are displayed in a forward mode when said stylus is moved in a first direction relative to said touch pad and wherein said frames are displayed in a reverse mode when said stylus is moved in a second direction relative to said touch pad.

6. The digital camera of claim 1, wherein said at least one function comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of aperture size, exposure time, contrast, color balance, gain, exposure compensation, flash, zoom, and delayed capture.

The digital camera of claim 1, wherein said at least one function is performed in a first direction when said stylus is moved in a first direction relative to said touch pad and said at least one function is performed in a second direction when said stylus is moved in a second direction relative to said touch pad.

8. The digital camera of claim 1, wherein said display device comprises a display and wherein said function comprises rotating an image displayable on said display.

9. The digital camera of claim 8, wherein said image is rotatable in a first direction when said stylus is moved in a first direction relative to said touch pad and wherein said image is rotatable in a second direction when said stylus is moved in a second direction relative to said touch pad.

10. The digital camera of claim 8, wherein said image is rotatable a preselected amount if said speed of said stylus relative to said touch pad is greater than a preselected amount.

11. The digital camera of claim 1 and further comprising a display wherein at least one reference line is displayable on said display.

12. The digital camera of claim 1, wherein said touch pad is linear.

13. The digital camera of claim 1, wherein said touch pad is annular.

14. A method of rotating an image displayed on a display device, said method comprising moving a stylus relative to an annular touch pad located on said viewing device, wherein the amount of movement corresponds to the amount of rotation of said image.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein said image is rotated in a first direction when said stylus is moved in a first direction relative to said touch pad and wherein said image is rotated in a second direction when said stylus is moved in a second direction relative to said touch pad.

16. The method of claim 14 wherein said image is rotated a preselected amount if the speed of said stylus relative to said touch pad is greater than a preselected speed.

17. The method of claim 14 and further comprising displaying at least one axis line on said display.

18. A method of viewing video on an imaging device, said method comprising:

moving a stylus relative to a touch pad located on said imaging device; and

changing a displayed video frame when said stylus moves a preselected distance relative to said touch pad.

19. The method of claim 18, wherein said frames are displayed in a forward mode when said stylus is moved in a first direction relative to said touch pad and wherein said frames are displayed in a reverse mode when said stylus is moved in a second direction.

20. The method of claim 18 and further comprising:

mapping the video on said touch pad;

contacting a location on said touch pad; and

displaying video corresponding to the contacted portion of the touch pad.
