Abstract

Provided is a wireless mobile communication system in which a mobile station reports a headroom value indicating the magnitude of currently used transmission power and additionally usable transmission power. An uplink scheduling method of a Base Transceiver Station (BTS) includes normalizing the headroom value according to a pre-set reference transmission format; determining a mean data rate of the mobile station; and determining a priority of the mobile station considering the normalized headroom value and the mean data rate.

Claims

1. An uplink scheduling method of a Base Transceiver Station (BTS) in a wireless mobile communication system in which a mobile station reports a headroom value indicating the amount of currently used transmission power and additionally usable transmission power to the BTS, the method comprising the steps of:

normalizing the headroom value according to a pre-set reference transmission format;

determining a mean data rate of the mobile station; and

determining a priority of the mobile station considering the normalized headroom value and the mean data rate.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the pre-set reference transmission format is determined in order to normalize the headroom value in a format of using a single slot in a modulation method of Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK), a coding rate of ½

, and a frequency domain for fairness when the headroom value of the mobile station is compared to a headroom value of another mobile station.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) previously allocated to the mobile station is converted to an MCS according to the reference transmission format using
