Abstract

An invention is provided for a dynamic interactive content system. The dynamic interactive content system includes a data receiver capable of receiving main content, such audio/visual video data, and supplemental content associated with the main content. In addition, a storage is included that is in communication with the receiver. The persistent storage is capable of storing a plurality of main content entries and associated supplemental content entries. The system also includes a processor that is capable of executing an interactive application. In operation, the interactive application searches the stored plurality of supplemental content entries for particular supplemental content entry having particular data. The interactive application then presents at least a portion of the main content entry that is associated with the particular supplemental content to a user.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented dynamic interactive content system, comprising:

a receiver capable of receiving main content and supplemental content associated with the main content, each supplemental content entry includes data that describes properties of the associated main content entry;

a persistent storage in communication with the receiver, the persistent storage capable of storing a plurality of main content entries and associated supplemental content entries; and

a processor capable of executing an interactive application, wherein the interactive application searches the stored plurality of supplemental content entries for particular supplemental content entry having particular data, and wherein the interactive application presents at least a portion of the main content entry associated with the particular supplemental content entry to a user.

2. A dynamic interactive content system as recited in claim 1, wherein the data includes a time code for a specific event included in the associated main content.

3. A dynamic interactive content system as recited in claim 2, wherein the interactive application presents main content data beginning at a position in the main content entry specified by a time code.

4. A dynamic interactive content system as recited in claim 1, wherein the supplemental content is received via an Internet.

5. A dynamic interactive content system as recited in claim 1, wherein the supplemental content is embedded in a signal utilized to transmit the main content.

6. An interactive gaming system, comprising:

a data receiver device configured to receiving main content and supplemental content associated with the main content;

storage in communication with the data receiver device, the storage capable of storing a plurality of main content entries and associated supplemental content entries;

an operational request source in communication with a user input device, the operational request source capable of receiving user requests via the user input device; and

a processor in communication with the storage device and the operational requests source, wherein the processor searches the stored plurality of supplemental content entries for particular supplemental content entry having particular data related to a received user request, and wherein the processor presents at least a portion of the main content entry associated with the particular supplemental content entry to a user, the presenting includes integration of the portion of main content into at least a part of one or more frames of a multimedia video game.

7. The interactive gaming system as recited in claim 6, wherein the processor is configured to execute the multimedia video game.

The interactive gaming system as recited in claim 6, wherein the multimedia video game includes instructions for directing searches of the stored plurality of supplemental content entries for particular supplemental content entry having particular data, and wherein the multimedia video game presents at least a portion of the main content entry associated with the particular supplemental content to a user by way of one or more displays.

9. The interactive gaming system as recited in claim 6, wherein each supplemental content entry includes data that describe properties of the associated main content entry.

10. The interactive gaming system as recited in claim 9, wherein the data includes a time code for a specific event included in the associated main content.

11. The interactive gaming system as recited in claim 10, wherein the multimedia video game directs to present main content data beginning at a position in the main content entry specified by the time code.

12. A computer gaming console, comprising:

data receiving circuitry for receiving main content and supplemental content associated with the main content;

storage in communication with the data receiving circuitry, the storage capable of storing a plurality of main content entries and associated supplemental content entries;

operational request circuitry in communication with a user input device, the operational request circuitry at least processes part of user requests via from the user input device; and

a processor in communication with the storage and the operational requests circuitry, wherein the processor searches the stored plurality of supplemental content entries for particular supplemental content entry having particular data related to a received user request, and wherein the processor presents at least a portion of the main content entry associated with the particular supplemental content entry to a user on a display, the display being configured to present graphics associated with an interactive application and the portion of the main content entry.

13. The computer gaming console as recited in claim 12, wherein the processor is configured to execute the interactive application to enable play of a multimedia video game.

14. The computer gaming console as recited in claim 12, wherein the interactive application includes instructions for directing searches of the stored plurality of supplemental content entries for particular supplemental content entry having particular data, and wherein the interactive application presents at least a portion of the main content entry associated with the particular supplemental content to a user by way of one or more displays.
