1. A method for allocating a transmission period in a transmission frame period in a wireless network system, said transmission frame period having a preset duration, the method comprising the steps of:

  • transmitting a power save multi-poll (PSMP) frame providing a downlink period and an initial uplink period to a station (STA);

    transmitting data to the STA in the downlink period provided by the PSMP frame and receiving data from the STA in the initial uplink period provided by the PSMP frame;

    upon detecting a resource request message from at least one STA requesting allocation of additional resources required for the transmission of remaining queued uplink data, and after the downlink period and the initial uplink period provided by the PSMP frame, transmitting in the transmission frame period a sub PSMP frame providing an additional uplink period sufficient to transmit at least part of the remaining queued uplink data; and

    receiving in the additional uplink period provided by the sub PSMP frame the at least part of the remaining queued uplink data from the at least one STA that transmitted the resource request message.
