1. A digital demodulating apparatus comprising:
- a tuner that performs channel select processing to a received signal;
a demodulator that performs demodulation processing to the received signal from the tuner;
a controller that controls the tuner and the demodulator;
a signal status forecasting section that forecasts a signal status of the received signal when it is assumed that the controller performs a predetermined control; and
an operation controlling section that controls an operation of at least one of a plurality of circuit elements that constitute the demodulator, such that a performance of the operation of the circuit element decreases in processing a portion in which the signal status is worsened, when the signal status forecasting section has forecasted that the signal status of the received signal is worsened to a predetermined status due to the control of the controller.

Abstract
A digital demodulating apparatus is provided capable of more reducing the power consumption of a demodulator by decreasing the performance of demodulation processing to a portion of a signal in which the signal condition is forecasted to be worsened. In the apparatus, when a signal status forecasting section has forecasted that the status of the received signal is worsened to a predetermined status due to a predetermined control of a controller, a demodulation controller controls an operation of at least one of circuit elements constituting the demodulator such that the performance of the operation decreases, in processing the portion where the signal status is worsened.

a controller that controls the whole of the receiver including the digital demodulating apparatus, a signal status forecasting section that forecasts a signal status of the received signal when it is assumed that the controller performs a predetermined control; and
