Abstract

A mobile communication terminal including a controller configured to activate both a speakerphone function and an additional function on the terminal when a functional key corresponding to the additional function is selected during an existing call, and an input unit configured to input information related to the additional function during the existing call.

Claims

1. A mobile communication terminal, comprising:

a controller configured to activate both a speakerphone function and an additional function on the terminal when a functional key corresponding to the additional function is selected during an existing call; and

an input unit configured to input information related to the additional function during the existing call.

2. The terminal of claim 1, wherein the additional function is a memo function, a scheduler function, an email function, a text messaging function, a camera function, a search function, a video or audio function, or a downloading function.

3. The terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller activates or deactivates the additional function when a preset key or menu on the mobile terminal is selected.

4. The terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller provides a menu option configured to selectively set what additional function is activated with the speakerphone function.

5. The terminal of claim 1, wherein the input unit comprises at least one from a key pad, a touch-type key pad, and a touch screen.

6. The terminal of claim 5, wherein the controller provides a menu option of storing the input information on the input unit as a image or text file.

7. The terminal of claim 6, further comprising:

a text recognizing unit configured to read the input information on the input unit.

8. The terminal of claim 7, wherein if the information is be stored as the text file, the controller determines whether or not the text recognizing unit has successfully read the information input on the input unit, and stores the input information as the text file if the text recognizing unit successfully read the information, or stores the information as the image file if the text recognizing unit did not successfully read the information input on the input unit.

9. The terminal of claim 1, further comprising:

a display unit,

wherein when the input unit comprises a touch-screen and if a capacity of the touch screen is exceeded, the controller moves the input information from the touch screen to the display unit.

10. The terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller provides options to move, save or clear the input information on the input unit.

11. The terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller activates or deactivates the additional function and the speakerphone function when a single preset key or menu on the mobile terminal is selected.

12. A mobile communication method, comprising:

activating both a speakerphone function and an additional function on a mobile terminal when a functional key corresponding to the additional function is selected during an existing call; and

inputting information related to the additional function during the existing call.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein the additional function is a memo function, a scheduler function, an email function, a text messaging function, a camera function, a search function, a video or audio function, or a downloading function.

14. The method of claim 12, wherein the activating step activates or deactivates the additional function when a preset key or menu on the mobile terminal is selected.

15. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

prompting a user with a menu option to selectively set what additional function is activated with the speakerphone function.

16. The method of claim 12, wherein the input step is performed using at least one from a key pad, a touch-type key pad, and a touch screen.

17. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

prompting a user with a menu option to store the input information as a image or text file.

18. The method of claim 17, further comprising:

reading the input information so the information can be stored as the text file.

19. The method of claim 18, wherein if the information is be stored as the text file, the method further comprises determining whether or not the reading step has successfully read the input information, and storing the input information as the text file if the reading step successfully read the information, or storing the information as the image file if the reading step did not successfully read the input information input.

20. The method of claim 16, wherein the inputting step further comprises:

moving the input information from a first display to a second display when a capacity of the touch screen is exceeded.

21. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

moving the input information to another display on the mobile terminal, saving the input information to a memory, or clearing the input information from a display of the mobile terminal so more information can be input in the inputting step.
