Abstract

A computer-implemented user interface embodied in a screen display comprises a plurality of data display components that each contain an indication of data that is selected based on a calculated assumption of contextual relevance to a characteristic of another display component.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented user interface embodied in a screen display, the user interface comprising a plurality of data display components that each contain-an indication of data that is selected based on a calculated assumption of contextual relevance to a characteristic of another display component.

2. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the display components are selected based at least in part on an analysis of data contained in a database, wherein the database contains information pertaining to human interactions with multiple data systems.

3. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the content of the data display components is selected based at least in part on an analysis of data contained in a database, wherein the database contains information pertaining to human interactions with multiple data systems.

4. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the order that items are displayed in the content of the data display components is selected based at least in part on an analysis of data contained in a database, wherein the database contains information pertaining to human interactions with multiple data systems.

5. The user interface of claim 1, further comprising a document, wherein at least one of the data display components contains an indication of data that is relevant to at least one characteristic of the document.

6. The user interface of claim 1, wherein at least one of the data display components contains an indication of data that is relevant to an applicable contextual characteristic of a user.

7. The user interface of claim 6, wherein the applicable contextual characteristic of the user is at least partially derived from schedule information associated with the user.

8. The user interface of claim 1, wherein at least one of the data display components contains an indication of data that is relevant to an applicable activity context.

9. The user interface of claim 1, wherein at least one of the data display components contains an indication of data that is relevant to an applicable process context.

10. The user interface of claim 1, wherein at least one of the data display components contains an indication of data that is selected based at least in part on a characteristic demonstrated by a source of subject matter expertise.

11. The user interface of claim 1, wherein at least one of the data display components contains an indication of data that is relevant to a particular user'"'"'s role within an organization.

12. The user interface of claim 1, wherein at least one of the data display components contains an indication of data that is relevant to an applicable entity context.

13. The user interface of claim 12, wherein the applicable entity context is specific to at least one ERP entity.

14. The user interface of claim 1, wherein at least one of the data display components contains an indication of data that is relevant to a contextual characteristic of a selected user, the selected user being a user other than a current user.

15. A user interface system configured to provide a user with an indication of relevant data, the system comprising:

a database configured to collect contextual information related to data associated with a variety of different data systems;

an analysis component configured to analyze data contained in the database relative to at least one contextual characteristic of the user; and

a user interface component configured to provide the user with the indication of relevant data, the indication of relevant data being at least partially determined based on information received from the analysis component.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the database contains an indication of at least one people-to-document association.

17. The system of claim 15, wherein the database contains an indication of at least one people-to-people association.

18. The system of claim 15, wherein the database contains an indication of at-least one document-to-document association.

19. A computer-implemented method of facilitating user interaction, the method comprising providing a user interface that includes a data display component having an element of content selected based at least in part on perceived contextual relevancy as reflected in a database of human interactions with multiple data systems, wherein at least one of the human interactions is not effectuated through the Internet.

20. The method of claim 19, wherein providing a user interface further comprises providing a user interface that includes a data display component having an element of content selected based at least in part on perceived contextual relevancy as reflected in a collection of user interactions with multiple data systems, wherein at least one of the human interactions pertains to cutting and pasting selected content.
