Abstract

An pathway indicating luminaire for use in an auxiliary lighting system contains at least one source of primary light and at least one light emitting diode. A switching system provides energy from a storage cell to the light emitting diode upon certain conditions, generally by time or by lack of ambient light.

Claims

1. A luminaire comprising:

a) a housing;

b) a reflector having concave reflective surfaces and a lower peripheral edge mounted in the housing; and

c) at least one reflector mounted LED mounted to or on said reflector proximate the lower peripheral edge.

2. A luminaire comprising:

a) a housing;

b) a reflector having concave reflective surfaces and a lower peripheral edge mounted in the housing; and

c) at least one reflector mounted LED mounted to or on said reflector; and

d) a standard trim ring or bezel.

3. A luminaire comprising:

a) a housing

b) a reflector mounted in said housing;

c) a modified trim ring or bezel; and

d) a least one trim ring or bezel mounted LED mounted to the modified trim ring or bezel.

4. A modified trim ring or bezel comprising:

a) a trim ring or bezel; and

b) a least one trim ring or bezel mounted LED mounted to the trim ring or bezel.

5. A luminaire comprising:

a) a housing;

b) a reflector having an upper portion, concave reflective surfaces, and a lower peripheral edge, mounted in the housing;

c) a main light source mounted proximate the upper portion of the reflector; and

d) at least one reflector mounted LED mounted to or on said reflector proximate the lower peripheral edge.

6. A luminaire comprising:

a) a housing;

b) a reflector having a upper portion, concave reflective surfaces, and a lower peripheral edge, mounted in the housing;

c) a main light source mounted proximate the upper portion of the reflector;

d) at least one reflector mounted LED mounted to or on said reflector; and

d) a standard trim ring or bezel.

7. A luminaire comprising:

a) a housing

b) a reflector having a upper portion, concave reflective surfaces, and a lower peripheral edge, mounted in the housing;

c) a main light source mounted proximate the upper portion of the reflector;

d) a modified trim ring or bezel; and

d) a least one trim ring or bezel mounted LED mounted to the modified trim ring or bezel.

8. A luminaire comprising:

a) a housing having an upper portion and a lower portion;

b) a primary or main light source mounted proximate the upper portion of the housing; and

c) at least one secondary light source or LED proximate the lower portion of the housing.

9. A secondary light source or LED connected to a primary light source or luminaire.

10. A wall mounted LED electrically connected to a;

a) control panel which is electrically connected to a;

b) luminaire.

11. A channel mounted LED electrically connected to a;

a) control panel which is electrically connected to a;

b) luminaire.

12. A moulding mounted LED electrically connected to a;

a) control panel which is electrically connected to a;

b) luminaire.

13. A door mounted LED electrically connected to a;

a) control panel which is electrically connected to a;

b) luminaire.

14. A handrail mounted LED electrically connected to a;

a) control panel which is electrically connected to a;

b) luminaire.

15. A pathway defining LED electrically connected to a;

a) control panel which is electrically connected to a;

b) luminaire.
