1. A licensing server computer in a wager gaming network comprising:

  • at least one processor;

    at least one interface operable to provide a communication link to at least one other network device in the wager gaming network; and

    a memory storing;

    network component data related to peer network components and non peer network components, including component capability data;

    wager game-related data;

    wager gaming network configuration data, including peer gaming network configuration data; and

    licensing authority data, including license server enabling code, licensing authority source data, licensing authority destination data, and a unique identifier, wherein the at least one processor is operable to perform local licensing functions for one or more wager gaming machines of the wager gaming network, wherein a local licensing function scope is determined by the licensing authority data, and wherein the local licensing functions include functioning as an intermediary between a central licensing server and the one or more wager gaming machines.
