Abstract

The present invention relates to a compound represented by Formula (I): and pharmaceutically acceptable salts. Compounds of the present invention inhibit Aurora kinase, making them especially suitable for the treatment of a number of diseases, including solid tumor cancers and hematological cancers.

Claims

1. A compound which is N′

-{4-[4-(2-{3-[(dimethylamino)methyl]phenyl}-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-4-yl)-1-ethyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl]phenyl}-N,N-dimethylurea or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

2. A composition comprising (a) the compound of claim 1, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and (b) at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.

3. A method for treating a cancer comprising administering to a patient in need thereof the compound of claim 1, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

4. The method of claim 3 wherein the cancer is a solid tumor cancer or a hematological cancer.

5. The method of claim 4 wherein the solid tumor cancer is lung cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, ovarian cancer, melanoma, and pancreatic cancer.

6. The method of claim 4 wherein the hematological cancer is leukemia, B-cell lymphoma, AML, or CML.

7. A method for treating cancer comprising the step of administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of a composition comprising the compound of claim 1, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and (b) at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.
