Abstract
A method and a device for performing inter-vehicle distance control on a vehicle is provided, an actual value (dact) of a distance variable which describes a distance between the vehicle and a vehicle traveling in front being determined and in which a plurality of weighting values (gi) for the distance variable are determined as a function of input variables (xi) which describe the driving situation of the vehicle and/or the ambient situation of the vehicle and/or the driving behavior of the driver, the weighting values (gi) being combined in a first computing step to form a combined value (f) for the distance variable. From which combined value (f) in turn a set point value (dsetp) for the distance variable is determined, a braking device and/or driving device of the vehicle being actuated in such a way that the determined actual value (dact) of the distance variable assumes the determined set point value (dsetp). The first computing step is followed by a second computing step in which the combined value (f) is restricted to a predefined value range, the set point value (dsetp) of the distance variable being determined from the combined value (f) which is restricted if appropriate.

8. A method for performing inter-vehicle distance control on a vehicle comprising:
-
determining an actual value of a distance variable describing a distance between the vehicle and a vehicle traveling in front;
determining a plurality of weighting values for the distance variable as a function of input variables describing a driving situation of the vehicle and/or an ambient situation of the vehicle and/or a driving behavior of a driver;
combining the weighting values in a first computing step to form a combined value for the distance variable and determining a set point value for the distance variable as a function of the combined value;
actuating a brake and/or driving device of the vehicle so that the determined actual value of the distance variable assumes the determined set point value of the distance variable;
and in a second computing step, restricting the combined value to a predefined value range. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)

15. A device for performing inter-distance control on a vehicle comprising:
an evaluation unit determining an actual value of a distance variable describing a distance between the vehicle and a vehicle traveling in front, the evaluation unit determining a plurality of weighting values for the distance variable as a function of input variables describing a driving situation of the vehicle and/or an ambient situation of the vehicle and/or a driving behavior of a driver, the evaluation unit combining the weighting values in a first computing step to form a combined value for the distance variable, the evaluation unit in turn determining a set point value for the distance variable as a function of the combined value, the evaluation unit actuating a brake and/or driving device of the vehicle so that the determined actual value of the distance variable assumes the determined set point value of the distance variable, and in a second computing step the evaluation unit restricting the combined value to a predefined value range. - View Dependent Claims (16)
