Abstract

An improved system and method for the design, creation and installation of implant-supported dental prostheses is provided. A network accessible portal facilitates communication among a dental professional, a scanning center, a manufacturing center and others in the design and production of a dental drill guide and prosthesis, utilizing cone beam imaging, a rotatable 3-dimension representation of a patient'"'"'s jaw, virtual placement of one or more implants and virtual testing prior to manufacture. Dental professionals may access the portal on a subscription or non-subscription basis.

Claims

1. A system for providing one more of implant procedure dental device for a patient comprising:

a portal;

at least one of scanning center;

at least one of a manufacturing center;

a plurality of dental; and

a plurality of digital patient data, wherein the portal provides communication with the plurality of dental, the at least one scanning center, and the at least one manufacturing center.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of dental is subscription-based.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of dental is non-subscription-based.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of dental is subscription-based and non-subscription-based.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the implant procedure dental device is a drill guide.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the implant procedure dental device is a prosthesis.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the scanning center is a cone beam scanning center.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the portal is comprised of an initialize patient module, a file transfer and security module, a create digital model module, a determine implant placement module, a create manufacturing data module, and a billing and administration module.

9. The system of claim 8, wherein the portal is further comprised of an elearning module.

13. The system of claim 1, wherein the at least one of product and service element is comprised of:

an imaging service for a referred patient;

a processing service to create a dental device;

a manufacturing service of dental device; and

a delivery service of dental device.

14. The system of claim 1, wherein the at least one of a financial element is comprised of:

a financial investment to access the system on a subscription basis;

a payment for a product and/or a service provided by the system; and

a dividend.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the dividend is based on a threshold of the product and service element.

10. A method of creating an implant procedure dental device comprising:

referring an implant procedure patient to a scanning center after diagnosing and recommending an implant procedure;

establishing a secure account for the patient using a portal;

scanning a jaw area of the patient using an imaging technology;

creating a data file of the jaw area;

transmitting the data file to the portal;

storing the data file;

creating a digital representation of the jaw area;

determining at least one implant placement;

designing at least one of an implant procedure dental device;

creating a manufacturing file for the at least one implant procedure dental device;

transmitting the manufacturing file from the portal to a manufacturing center; and

manufacturing the implant procedure dental device.

11. A system for providing subscription based access to a system for the design, creation and installation of implant-supported dental device for a plurality of dental comprising:

at least one financial element; and

at least one product and service element, wherein the plurality of dental is less than 1000 for a metropolitan area.

12. The system of claim 11, further comprising at least one of an elearning element.

16. The system of claim 12, wherein the at least one of an elearning element is comprised of:

a conveying of a learning into the system;

an interactive collaboration; and

a conveying of a learning from the system.
