Abstract

In an embodiment, a method is provided. The method includes playing a content file with a media player on a cellular telephone. Also, the method includes receiving an interrupt event. Moreover, the method includes saving state of the media player on the cellular telephone in the media player.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

playing a content file with a media player on a cellular telephone;

receiving an interrupt event; and

saving state of the media player on the cellular telephone in the media player.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

servicing the interrupt with an operating system of the cellular telephone.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

accessing the content file on the cellular telephone.

4. The method of claim 3, further comprising:

accessing the media player on the cellular telephone.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

accessing the media player on the cellular telephone with state saved in the media player.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

querying a user of the cellular telephone about whether to resume play based on state saved in the media player.

7. The method of claim 6, further comprising:

operating the media player responsive to results of querying the user.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein:

operating the media player responsive to results of querying the user includes resuming play of a content file identified in state saved in the media player.

9. The method of claim 7, wherein:

operating the media player responsive to results of querying the user includes playing a content file without resuming play of a content file identified in state saved in the media player.

10. The method of claim 9, further comprising:

accessing a further content file of the cellular telephone with the media player.

11. The method of claim 10, further comprising:

playing the further content file of the cellular telephone with the media player.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein:

the further content file is the content file identified in state saved in the media player.

13. The method of claim 11, wherein:

the further content file is a content file different from the content file identified in state saved in the media player.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein:

the method is executed by a processor responsive to instructions embodied in a machine-readable medium.

15. A system, comprising:

a cellular telephone including;

a processor;

a display coupled to the processor;

a network interface coupled to the processor;

a local storage medium coupled to the processor;

a media player embodied in the local storage medium;

wherein;

the media player is to play content in content files, the media player is to save state data within the media player as embodied in the local storage medium.

16. The system of claim 15, further comprising:

a set of content files embodied in the local storage medium.

17. The system of claim 16, further comprising:

means for receiving a response to a query from a user.

18. The system of claim 16, further comprising:

a user input interface coupled to the processor;

and wherein;

the media player is to query a user as to whether to resume play of a content file based on state data saved in the media player as embodied in the local storage medium.

19. A method, comprising:

accessing a media player on a cellular telephone with state data saved in the media player;

querying a user as to whether to resume play of a content file identified in the state data saved in the media player; and

operating the media player responsive to a result of querying the user as to whether to resume play.

20. The method of claim 19, wherein:

operating the media player responsive to the result of querying the user as to whether to resume play includes resuming play of the content file identified in the state data saved in the media player.

21. The method of claim 19, wherein:

operating the media player responsive to the result of querying the user as to whether to resume play includes playing a content file designated by a user without resuming play of the content file identified in the state data saved in the media player.

22. The method of claim 21, further comprising:

accessing the content file designated by the user.

23. The method of claim 22, wherein:

the content file designated by the user is different from the content file identified in the state data saved in the media player.

24. The method of claim 22, wherein:

the content file designated by the user is the same as the content file identified in the state data saved in the media player.
