Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention provide browser-based clip manipulation methods and systems for rendering and editing a clip. Without limitation, the clip may be a video clip. The clip manipulation facility is associated with at least one editing function, where the editing function is presented as a visual element as a part of a video timeline.

Claims

1. A method of editing a clip, comprising:

providing a browser-based clip manipulation facility for rendering and editing the clip;

associating at least one editing function with the manipulation facility; and

presenting a timeline, wherein the timeline is adapted to depict an element representing an edited portion of the clip with the at least one editing function.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the clip is a video clip.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the clip is an audio clip.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the clip is a multimedia clip.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the clip is a podcast clip.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the clip is an advertisement clip.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the clip is an interactive clip.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the element is a video element.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the clip manipulation facility includes a plurality of components.

40. The method of claim 1, wherein the browser-based manipulation facility is hosted by a computing facility.

45. The method of claim 1, wherein the clip is associated with a format.

51. The method of claim 1, wherein the clip is stored in memory.

61. The method of claim 1, wherein the clip is dragged into the manipulation facility.

65. The method of claim 1, further comprising making a presentation of the clip, wherein the presentation includes a rendering of the clip and at least one visual element.

75. The method of claim 1, further comprising editing the clip, wherein editing the clip includes a plurality of operations.

150. The method of claim 1, wherein the timeline is associated with a plurality of functions.

200. The method of claim 1, further comprising selecting a portion of the clip for editing.
