Abstract

A system and method for providing baseline data for automated patient management is disclosed. A patient is identified for enrollment in automated patient management with information including at least one of treatment profile and medical history. Device measures are collected to provide raw physiometry for the patient regularly recorded by a medical device, beginning with an initial observation period. Derived device measures are determined to provide derivative physiometry based on the collected device measures. Baseline data from the collected and derived device measures are quantified.

Claims

1. Stored baseline data for automated patient management, comprising:

information to identify a patient for enrollment in automated patient management and comprising at least one of treatment profile and medical history;

collected device measures to provide raw physiometry for the patient regularly recorded by a medical device, beginning with an initial observation period; and

derived device measures to provide derivative physiometry based on the collected device measures, wherein the collected and derived device measures quantify baseline data.

2. Stored baseline data according to claim 1, further comprising:

acceptance parameters to define a threshold for the baseline data in terms of automated patient care eligibility; and

a wellness indicator determined by analyzing one or more of the collected and derived device measures against the acceptance parameters.

3. Stored baseline data according to claim 1, further comprising:

non-acceptance parameters to define a threshold for the baseline data in terms of one or more of substantially normal activity and exercise; and

a rejection indicator determined by analyzing one or more of the collected and derived device measures against the non-acceptance parameters.

4. Stored baseline data according to claim 1, wherein a set of timed physical stressors are performed by the patient over the initial observation period contemporaneous to recordation of the collected device measures.

5. Stored baseline data according to claim 1, further comprising:

quality of life measures to provide qualified voice feedback data electronically recorded by the patient over the initial observation period contemporaneous to recordation of the collected device measures.

6. Stored baseline data according to claim 1, further comprising:

reprogramming parameters for the medical device, wherein the collected device measures are recorded subsequent to application of the reprogramming parameters.

7. A medical device for providing baseline data for automated patient management, comprising:

one or more sensors to directly sense raw physiometry for a patient;

sensing circuitry to regularly monitor and record the raw physiometry over an initial observation period as collected device measures;

memory to temporarily store the collected device measures pending interrogation by an externally interfaceable device; and

a telemetry interface to provide access to the collected device measures, wherein the collected device measures and derived device measures that provide derivative physiometry based on the collected device measures quantify baseline data.

8. A medical device according to claim 7, further comprising:

reprogramming parameters for the implantable medical device, wherein the collected device measures are recorded subsequent to application of the reprogramming parameters.

9. A medical device according to claim 7, wherein the medical devices is selected from the set comprising an implantable medical device and an external medical device.

10. A system for providing baseline data for automated patient management, comprising:

a database, comprising;

information to identify a patient for enrollment in automated patient management and comprising at least one of treatment profile and medical history;

collected device measures to provide raw physiometry for the patient regularly recorded by a medical device, beginning with an initial observation period; and

derived device measures based on the collected device measures to provide derivative physiometry;

an interface module to periodically receive the collected device measures from the medical device; and

an application module, comprising;

a derivation module to derive the derived device measures from the collected device measures; and

an analysis module to quantify baseline data from the collected and derived device measures.

11. A system according to claim 10, further comprising:

acceptance parameters to define a threshold for the baseline data in terms of automated patient care eligibility; and

a wellness indicator determined by analyzing one or more of the collected and derived device measures against the acceptance parameters.

12. A system according to claim 10, further comprising:

non-acceptance parameters to define a threshold for the baseline data in terms of one or more of substantially normal activity and exercise; and

a rejection indicator determined by analyzing one or more of the collected and derived device measures against the non-acceptance parameters.

13. A system according to claim 10, wherein a set of timed physical stressors are performed by the patient over the initial observation period contemporaneous to recordation of the collected device measures.

14. A system according to claim 10, further comprising:

quality of life measures to provide qualified voice feedback data electronically recorded by the patient over the initial observation period contemporaneous to recordation of the collected device measures.

15. A system according to claim 10, further comprising:

reprogramming parameters for the implantable medical device, wherein the collected device measures are recorded subsequent to application of the reprogramming parameters.

16. A system according to claim 10, wherein the medical devices is selected from the set comprising an implantable medical device and an external medical device.

17. A structured record to store baseline data for automated patient management, comprising:

device data for a patient for enrollment in automated patient management, comprising at least one of;

information to identify the patient comprising at least one of treatment profile and medical history;

collected device measures to provide raw physiometry for the patient regularly recorded by a medical device, beginning with an initial observation period; and

derived device measures to provide derivative physiometry based on the collected device measures; and

baseline data quantified from the collected device measures and derived device measures.

18. A structured record according to claim 17, further comprising:

a wellness indicator determined by analyzing one or more of the collected and derived device measures against the acceptance parameters that define a threshold for the baseline data in terms of automated patient care eligibility.

19. A structured record according to claim 17, further comprising:

quality of life measures to provide qualified voice feedback data electronically recorded by the candidate patient over the fixed time period contemporaneous to recordation of the collected device measures.

20. A structured record according to claim 17, further comprising:

reprogramming parameters for the implantable medical device, wherein the collected device measures are recorded subsequent to application of the reprogramming parameters.

21. A method for providing baseline data for automated patient management, comprising:

identifying a patient for enrollment in automated patient management with information comprising at least one of treatment profile and medical history;

collecting device measures to provide raw physiometry for the patient regularly recorded by a medical device, beginning with an initial observation period;

determining derived device measures to provide derivative physiometry based on the collected device measures; and

quantifying baseline data from the collected and derived device measures.

22. A method according to claim 21, further comprising:

defining acceptance parameters as a threshold for the baseline data in terms of automated patient care eligibility; and

determining a wellness indicator by analyzing one or more of the collected and derived device measures against the acceptance parameters.

23. A method according to claim 21, further comprising:

defining non-acceptance parameters as a threshold for the baseline data in terms of one or more of substantially normal activity and exercise; and

determining a rejection indicator by analyzing one or more of the collected and derived device measures against the non-acceptance parameters.

24. A method according to claim 21, wherein a set of timed physical stressors are performed by the patient over the initial observation period contemporaneous to recordation of the collected device measures.

25. A method according to claim 21, further comprising:

providing quality of life measures as qualified voice feedback data electronically recorded by the patient over the initial observation period contemporaneous to recordation of the collected device measures.

26. A method according to claim 21, further comprising:

defining reprogramming parameters for the implantable medical device, wherein the collected device measures are recorded subsequent to application of the reprogramming parameters.

27. A method according to claim 21, wherein the medical devices is selected from the set comprising an implantable medical device and an external medical device.

28. A computer-readable storage medium holding code for performing the method according to claim 21.
