Abstract

One or more inputs, such as a roll of one or more die, to a craps game are determined from one or more event results from a sporting event. A result of the craps game is based at least on the one or more determined inputs.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

receiving one or more event results of a sporting event;

for each of a plurality of bets, determining a result of a simulated first die roll by applying a set of rules to the one or more event results from the sporting event;

for each of the plurality of bets, determining a result of a simulated second die roll by applying the set of rules to the one or more event results from the sporting event; and

for each of the plurality of bets, determining a result of a craps game based at least on the determined results of the simulated first die roll and the simulated second die roll.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the sporting event comprises at least one of:

a horse race,

a dog race,

an automobile race,

a baseball game,

a basketball game,

a football game,

a soccer game,

a hockey game,

a jai alia game, and

a cricket match.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more event results comprise at least one of:

a result corresponding to a completion of the sporting event, and

a result corresponding to an event during a duration of the sporting event.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of bets comprises a bet on the respective craps game.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein:

the sporting event comprises a number of participants; and

the method further comprises selecting the set of rules from a plurality of sets of rules based on the number of participants in the sporting event.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the sporting event comprises a race event.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein selecting the set of rules comprises selecting the set of rules after receiving the one or more event results.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining the sporting event from a plurality of sporting events; and

assigning each of the plurality of bets to the sporting event.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein determining the sporting event comprises determining the sporting event based at least on a time that each of the plurality of bets was placed.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein determining the sporting event comprises determining the sporting event based on at least one of:

a type of the sporting event,

a number of participants in the sporting event,

a scheduled start time of the sporting event,

a completion time of the sporting event, and

when official results of the sporting event will be posted.

11. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

receiving the plurality of bets, wherein each of the plurality of bets comprises a bet on the respective craps game; and

determining, after receiving the plurality of bets, the sporting event from the plurality of sporting events.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein:

the sporting event comprises a race event comprising a plurality of participants;

each of the participants in the race event comprises a numerical identifier; and

the one or more event results comprise the numerical identifier of the participant finishing in each of one or more finishing positions.

13. The method of claim 1, the method further comprising determining whether each of the plurality of bets comprises a winning bet based on the result of the craps game for that bet.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein for at least one of the plurality of bets determining the result of the craps game comprises determining the result of the craps game based on the set of rules.

15. The method of claim 1, wherein for at least two of the plurality of bets the result of the respective craps game is the same.

16. The method of claim 1, wherein for at least two of the plurality of bets the result of the respective craps game is different.

17. The method of claim 1, wherein the determined results of the simulated first die roll and the simulated second die roll are the same for each of the plurality of bets.

18. The method of claim 1, wherein for at least two of the plurality of bets at least one of the determined results of the simulated first die roll and the simulated second die roll between the at least two bets is different.

19. The method of claim 1, wherein determining the results of the simulated first die roll and the simulated second die roll for each bet comprises applying the set of rules to the received one or more event results of the sporting event and to one or more bet parameters associated with that bet.

20. The method of claim 19, wherein the one or more bet parameters associated with a particular bet comprises at least one parameter selected by a user who placed the bet.

21. The method of claim 19, wherein the one or more bet parameters associated with a particular bet comprises at least one parameter determined randomly.

22. The method of claim 19, wherein:

the sporting event comprises a race event comprising a number of participants, each participant comprising a numerical identifier;

the one or more bet parameters associated with each bet comprise an indication of one or more finishing positions in the race event;

the one or more event results comprise the numerical identifier of the participant finishing in each of one or more finishing positions in the race event; and

the set of rules comprises rules for determining the results of the simulated first die roll and the simulated second die roll for each bet based on the numerical identifiers of the participants that finished in each of the one or more finishing positions indicated by the one or more bet parameters associated with that bet.

23. The method of claim 1, wherein:

one or more bet parameters are associated with each bet;

the sporting event comprises a race event comprising a number of participants, each participant comprising a numerical identifier;

the one or more bet parameters associated with each bet comprise an indication of one or more finishing positions in the race event;

the one or more event results comprise the numerical identifier of the participant finishing in each of one or more finishing positions in the race event;

the set of rules comprises an algorithm, a set of first relationships, and a set of second relationships, each first relationship comprising a correlation between a result of simulated first die roll and one or more possible results of the algorithm, and each second relationship comprising a correlation between a result of simulated second die roll and one or more possible results of the algorithm; and

determining the results of the simulated first die roll and the simulated second die roll for each bet comprises;

applying the algorithm to the numerical identifiers of the participants that finished in each of the one or more finishing positions indicated by the one or more bet parameters associated with that bet to determine one or more first results and one or more second results;

determining, based on the set of first relationships, the result of the simulated first die roll corresponding to the one or more determined first results of the applied algorithm; and

determining, based on the set of second relationships, the result of the simulated second die roll corresponding to the one or more determined second results of the applied algorithm.

24. The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more event results of the sporting event are neither random nor predictable.

25. An apparatus comprising a computing device operable to perform the method of claim 1.

26. A method, comprising:

receiving a bet on a craps game;

receiving one or more event results of a sporting event;

determining a result of a simulated first die roll by applying a set of rules to the one or more event results from the sporting event;

determining a result of a simulated second die roll by applying the set of rules to the one or more event results from the sporting event; and

determining a result of a craps game based at least on the determined results of the simulated first die roll and the simulated second die roll.

27. The method of claim 26, further comprising:

determining the sporting event from a plurality of sporting events; and

assigning the bet to the sporting event.

28. The method of claim 27, further comprising determining the sporting event after receiving the bet on the craps game.
