Abstract

The invention relates to methods and compositions for identifying compounds having therapeutic activity against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Claims

1. A method comprising

(a) identifying a non-nucleotide prototype compound;

(b) substituting the prototype compound with a phosphonate-containing group to produce a candidate compound; and

(c) determining the anti-HIV activity of the candidate compound.
