Abstract

In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for creating a list of expected search queries associated with a search vertical, ordering the list based on at least one factor, and presenting the ordered list of search queries to a mobile communication facility for user selection.

Claims

1. A method of operating a mobile search suggestion dictionary comprising:

creating a list of expected search queries associated with a search vertical;

ordering the list based on at least one factor; and

presenting the ordered list of search queries to a mobile communication facility for user selection.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the search vertical is general search.

30. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one factor is related to search query popularity.

31. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one factor is based on information relating to a mobile communication facility.

32. The method of claim 31, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a user characteristic.

34. The method of claim 31, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a user history.

35. The method of claim 31, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a user transaction.

36. The method of claim 31, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a geographic location.

37. The method of claim 31, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a user device.

38. The method of claim 31, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a time.

39. The method of claim 31, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a mobile communication facility characteristic.

43. The method of claim 31, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is provided by a telecommunications service provider.

44. The method of claim 31, wherein at least one of the presented search queries in the list of search queries is associated with a human language.

56. The method of claim 31, wherein the list of presented search queries is associated with a handset.

57. The method of claim 31, wherein the list of presented search queries is associated with an input box.

71. The method of claim 1, wherein the list of presented search queries is associated with a mobile communication facility type.

72. The method of claim 1, wherein the list of presented search queries is associated with a phone client application.

78. The method of claim 1, wherein the mobile communication facility is a mobile phone.

81. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one of the presented search queries is initiated by a substring query entry.
