Abstract

A network based review management system and method for managing a plurality of enrolled websites and a plurality of review content items includes a network, a first database of enrolled websites connected to the network, and a second database of review content items connected to the network. Each of the enrolled websites of the first database is associated with one or more review content items of the second database. When one of the enrolled websites is accessed over the network, the one or more review content items from the second database are delivered over the network to the accessed one of the enrolled websites for viewing thereof and/or one or more review content items is added over the network to the second database through the accessed one of the enrolled websites.

Claims

1. A network based review management method for managing a plurality of enrolled websites and a plurality of review content items, comprising:

providing a first database of enrolled websites;

providing a second database of review content items;

associating each of said enrolled websites with one or more review content items;

accessing one of said enrolled websites on a network, said one of said enrolled websites associated with said one or more review content items during said preceding step of associating each of said enrolled websites with one or more review content items; and

at least one of (i) delivering said one or more review content items from said second database over said network to said accessed one of said enrolled websites for viewing thereof or (ii) adding one or more review content items over said network to said second database through said accessed one of said enrolled websites.

The network based review management method of claim 1 further including delivering said one or more review content items from said second database over said network to said accessed one of said enrolled websites for viewing thereof, said one or more review content items that are delivered from said second database are said one or more review content items that are associated with said accessed website.

3. The network based review management method of claim 2 wherein said one or more review content items delivered from said second database are provided within a single frame of one or more web documents of said accessed website.

4. The network based review management method of claim 1 further including:

adding one or more new review content items to said second database over said network from said accessed one of said enrolled websites; and

associating said one or more new review content items added to said second database over said network through said accessed one of said enrolled websites with said accessed one of said enrolled websites.

5. The network based review management method of claim 1 further including:

accessing another of said enrolled websites, said another enrolled website associated with said one or more review content items during the step of associating each of said enrolled websites with one or more review content items; and

at least one of (i) delivering said one or more review content items from said second database to said accessed another of said enrolled websites for viewing thereof or (ii) adding one or more review content items to said second database through said accessed another of said enrolled websites.

6. The network based review management method of claim 1 further including:

enrolling a new website over said network and adding said new website to said first database of enrolled websites, wherein enrolling said new website includes supplying website identifying information over said network to said first database for assisting in associating said new website with said one or more review content items of said second database.

The network based review management method of claim 6 wherein said website identifying information include at least one of (i) website partner definition criteria for identifying said new website or (ii) website partner relevancy criteria for identifying acceptable advertising partners for said new website.

8. The network based review management method of claim 7 wherein, when said website identifying information includes said partner definition criteria, said step of supplying website identifying information over said network includes:

presenting individual items and groups of said individual items hierarchically over said network;

selecting at least one of said individual items or groups of said individual items over said network; and

storing at least one of said individual items or said groups of said individual items selected in said preceding step in said first database for assisting in associating said new website with said one or more review content items of said second database.

9. The network based review management method of claim 7 wherein, when said website identifying information includes said partner relevancy criteria, said step of supplying website identifying information over said network includes:

presenting website partner relevancy items and groups of website partner relevancy items hierarchically over said network;

selecting at least one of said website partner relevancy items or groups of website partner relevancy items over said network; and

storing at least one of said website partner relevancy items or groups of website partner relevancy items selected in said preceding step in said first database for assisting in associating said new website with said one or more review content items of said second database.

10. The network based review management method of claim 6 wherein said step of enrolling a new website over said network and adding said new website to said first database of enrolled websites further including the sub-steps of:

providing an enrollment interface over said network that enables enrollment of said new website from a remote location; and

receiving enrollment information from said new website including said website identifying information over said network,

wherein said step of associating each of said enrolled websites with said one or more review content items includes the sub-step of;

using said website identifying information of said new website to match said new website with said one or more review content items.

11. The network based review management method of claim 1 further including:

providing a third database of enrolled advertisers and ads, each of said ads associated with a particular one of said advertisers;

associating each of said advertisers and at least one ad with said one or more review content items of said second database; and

delivering said one or more of said ads associated with said one or more review content items when said one or more review content items are delivered from said second database over said network to said accessed one of said enrolled websites.

12. The network based review management method of claim 11 further including:

enrolling at one of a new advertiser or at least one new ad and adding said at least one of a new advertiser or at least one new ad to said third database of advertisers and ads, wherein enrolling said at least one of said new advertiser and said at least one new ad includes supplying advertiser/ad identifying information over said network to said third database for assisting in associating said at least one of said new advertiser and said at least one new ad with said one or more review content items of said second database.

The network based review management method of claim 12 wherein said advertiser/ad identifying information includes at least one of (i) advertiser/ad partner definition criteria for identifying said at one of said new advertiser or said at least one new ad or (ii) advertiser/ad partner relevancy criteria for identifying acceptable website partners for said at least one of said new advertiser and said at least one new ad.

14. The network based review management method of claim 13 wherein, when said advertiser/ad identifying information includes said advertiser/ad partner definition criteria, said step of supplying advertiser/ad identifying information over said network includes:

presenting individual items and groups of said individual items hierarchically over said network;

selecting at least one of said individual items or groups of said individual items over said network; and

storing at least one of said individual items or said groups of said individual items selected in said preceding step in said third database for assisting in associating said at least one of said new advertiser or said at least one new ad with said one or more review content items of said second database.

15. The network based review management method of claim 13 wherein, when said advertiser/ad identifying information includes advertiser/ad partner relevancy criteria, said step of supplying advertiser/ad identifying information over said network includes:

presenting advertiser/ad partner relevancy items and groups of advertiser/ad partner relevancy items hierarchically over said network;

selecting at least one of said advertiser/ad partner relevancy items or groups of advertiser/ad partner relevancy items over said network; and

storing at least one of said advertiser/ad partner relevancy items or groups of advertiser/ad partner relevancy items selected in said preceding step in said first database for assisting in associating said new website with said one or more review content items of said second database.

The network based review management method of claim 12 wherein said step of at one of a new advertiser or at least one new ad over said network and adding said at least one of a new advertiser or at least one new ad to said third database of enrolled advertisers and ads further including the sub-steps of:

providing an enrollment interface over said network that enables enrollment of said at one of a new advertiser or at least one new ad from a remote location; and

receiving enrollment information including said advertiser/ad identifying information over said network,

wherein said step of associating each of said advertisers and at least one ad with said one or more review content items includes the sub-step of;

using said advertiser/ad identifying information of said at one of a new advertiser or at least one new ad to match said at one of a new advertiser or at least one new ad with said one or more review content items.

17. The network based review management method of claim 11 wherein said one or more of said ads associated with said one or more review content items are provided with said one or more review content items within a single frame of one or more web documents of said accessed website.

18. A network based review management system for managing a plurality of enrolled websites and a plurality of review content items, comprising:

a network;

a first database of enrolled websites connected to said network; and

a second database of review content items connected to said network, each of said enrolled websites of said first database associated with one or more review content items of said second database;

wherein, when one of said enrolled websites is accessed over said network, said one or more review content items of said second database associated with said accessed one of said enrolled websites is viewable through a single frame of one or more web documents of said accessed website.

19. The network based review management system of claim 18 wherein said single frame of said accessed one of said enrolled websites allows adding of review content items to said second database over said network.

20. The network based review management system of claim 18 further including:

a third database of enrolled advertisers and ads, each of said ads associated with a particular one of said advertisers, and each of said advertisers and at least one ad associated with said one or more review content items of said second database,

wherein, when said accessed one of said enrolled websites is accessed over said network, said one or more review content items of said second database associated with said accessed one of said enrolled websites is viewable through said single frame and said at least one ad associated with said viewable one or more review content items is viewable through said single frame.

21. A method utilized to identify one or more advertisements that are eligible for distribution to one or more websites within a review management system, comprising:

for a website administrator associated with each of the one or more websites enrolled in the review management system, wherein each website includes one or more web documents,

implementing software code to create a web document frame in each of the one or more web documents in each of the one or more websites;

selecting one or more partner definition criteria that identify the website;

selecting zero or more partner relevancy criteria that define one or more acceptable advertiser partners for the website;

selecting one or more item catalog subsets that are relevant to web content that define which review management content will be prioritized and/or filtered for distribution to the website; and

for one or more advertisers enrolled in the review management system, wherein each advertiser is associated with one or more advertisements,

selecting one or more partner definition criteria that identify each of the one or more advertisers; and

selecting zero or more partner relevancy criteria that define one or more acceptable websites for the one or more advertisers,

determining one or more acceptable advertiser partners for the website by comparing the one or more advertiser partner definition criteria for each of the one or more advertisers to the website partner relevancy criteria; and

delivering the review management content to each website via the frame within the one more web documents within each of the one or more websites, the web content is based at least in part upon the partner definition criteria, the partner relevancy criteria and the item catalog subsets.
