Abstract

Graphical user interfaces, computer readable media, and computer systems for monitoring a chemical process. An administration module sets a plurality of user preferences associated with the chemical process. A people management module defines a user role in the chemical process. An organization module defines an organizational structure of an organization that runs the chemical process. An equipment module defines equipment used in the chemical process. A material module controls a chemical used in the chemical process. A process module defines a chemical reaction in the chemical process.

Claims

1. A user interface for monitoring a chemical process, the user interface comprising:

an administration option that sets a plurality of user preferences associated with the chemical process;

a people management option that defines a user role in said chemical process;

an organization option that defines an organizational structure of an organization that runs said chemical process;

an equipment option that defines equipment used in said chemical process;

a material option that controls a chemical used in said chemical process; and

a process option that defines a chemical reaction in the chemical process.

2. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the plurality of user preferences comprises language, currency, time zone, and time format.

3. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the user role is supplier, distributor, transporter, engineer, chemist, or supervisor.

4. The user interface of claim 3, wherein the people management option comprises instructions for storing a user profile of each person associated with said chemical process.

5. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the organization is a company comprising at least one department, at least one a site, and at least one location.

6. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the equipment option provides an option for defining new equipment, searching existing equipment, modify existing equipment, comparing equipment, activating equipment, deactivating equipment, leasing or loaning equipment, making an equipment reservation, checking availability of equipment for reservation, and duplicating equipment.

7. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the material option provides an option for adding a material into inventory, managing a material inventory, tracking a movement and a storage of a material throughout a warehouse, checking availability of a material, allocating inventory by requirement, ordering a material from a vendors, ordering a material from a site, managing a supplier, managing a vendor, managing an order for a material, tracking receipt of a material, managing dispensement of a material, tracking consumption of a material, and managing a material specification plan.

8. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the process option provides an option to locate a project, an option to locate a campaign, an option to locate a master batch record, an option to locate a batch record, and an option to locate a unit operation.

9. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the process option provides an option to create a new project, an option to add personnel to a project, an option to view project details, and an option to define a target molecule for said chemical process.

10. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the process option provides an option to create one or more campaigns, an option to search for a campaign, and an option to view a plurality of details for a campaign.

11. The user interface of claim 10, wherein a campaign in said one or more campaigns has a status selected from the group consisting of draft, submitted, approved, in progress, completed, parked, and cancelled.

12. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the process option provides an option to create a new master batch record and an option to find an existing master batch record.

13. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the process option provides an option to create a batch record and option to find an existing batch record.

14. The user interface of claim 13, wherein the new batch record comprises a list all materials using in the chemical process, a list of all equipment using in the chemical process, and each master batch record that defines a batch precursor material for said chemical process or target material of said chemical process.

15. The user interface of claim 14, wherein the master batch record has a status selected from the group consisting of draft, submitted, approved, rejected, and obsolete.

16. The user interface of claim 1, wherein said chemical process comprises one or more unit operations, and wherein each unit operation in said one or more unit operations is approved by an administrator.

17. The user interface of claim 16, wherein a unit operation has a status selected from the group consisting of draft, submitted, approved, rejected, and obsolete.

18. The user interface of claim 1, further comprising a views option for customizing a view of a piece of equipment or a view of a chemical used in said chemical process.

19. The user interface of claim 1, wherein the chemical process is a biological or biochemical process.

20. A computer readable media for monitoring a chemical process, the computer readable media comprising:

an administration module that sets a plurality of user preferences associated with the chemical process;

a people management module that defines a user role in said chemical process;

an organization module that defines an organizational structure of an organization that runs said chemical process;

an equipment module that defines equipment used in said chemical process;

a material module that controls a chemical used in said chemical process; and

a process module that defines a chemical reaction in the chemical process.

21. A computer system for monitoring a chemical process, the computer system comprising a memory coupled with a central processing unit, the memory comprising:

an administration module that sets a plurality of user preferences associated with the chemical process;

a people management module that defines a user role in said chemical process;

an organization module that defines an organizational structure of an organization that runs said chemical process;

an equipment module that defines equipment used in said chemical process;

a material module that controls a chemical used in said chemical process; and

a process module that defines a chemical reaction in the chemical process.
