1. A method for adjusting a presentation of a region-of-interest within an original image for display on a display screen, comprising:
- displaying the presentation on the display screen, the presentation having a distorted region for the region-of-interest incorporated within the original image, the distorted region including a magnified region having a magnification for the region-of-interest at least partially surrounded by an at least partially compressed region where the magnification decreases to that of the original image surrounding the distorted region to provide context for the magnified region with respect to the original image;
receiving a signal for adjusting the presentation, the signal for one of;
changing a level of zoom such that the magnified region fills the display screen;
changing the level of zoom such that the magnified and compressed regions fill the display screen; and
, applying the magnification uniformly to the magnified region, compressed region, and the surrounding original image;
adjusting the presentation in accordance with the signal to generate an adjusted presentation; and
, displaying the adjusted presentation on the display screen to replace display of the presentation.

The GUI includes: a first bounding shape surrounding the focal region; a second bounding shape surrounding the shoulder region; a base outline; a pickup point; a slide bar; a move area within the region of interest; at least one zoom area; and, a zoom button.
