Abstract

In one embodiment, the present invention is a method of dispatching information within a system. The method includes receiving a message. The method also includes extracting address information from the message. The method further includes determining a destination from the address information. The method also includes routing the message to the destination.

Claims

1. A method of dispatching information within a system, comprising:

receiving a message;

extracting source or destination address information from a plurality of transactions of the message;

determining whether a first application or a second application is a destination for each transaction from the source or destination address information and from processing rules; and

routing each transaction of the message to the first or the second application based on the source or destination address information and based on the processing rules.

8. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

converting the message into a second message;

transforming the second message into a third message; and

processing the third message to form a transformed set of transactions.

9. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

converting the message into a second message using custom scripts and default processing;

transforming the second message into a third message using custom scripts and default processing; and

processing the third message to form a transformed set of transactions using custom scripts and default processing.

12. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

validating the message.

13. The method of claim 12 wherein:

validating the message includes determining if each transaction of the plurality of transactions is supported by the system.

14. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

detecting errors in the message.

15. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

providing additional information to the first or second applications.

16. The method of claim 15 wherein:

additional information includes transformation map information.

17. The method of claim 15 wherein:

additional information includes transaction operation information.

18. The method of claim 15 wherein:

additional information includes an internal representation of data hierarchy information of the message.

19. The method of claim 18 wherein:

the internal representation is configurable based on the set of rules.

20. A method of dispatching messages in a system, comprising:

receiving a message;

retrieving a source or destination address from the message;

creating a rules data structure;

finding a plurality of transactions of the message;

determining whether each transaction matches a rule of the rules data structure;

traversing each transaction, tagging and inserting values in each transaction;

assembling the message; and

transferring the message to a first or second application of a system based the source or destination and based on a match between the rule of the rules data structure and the plurality of transactions.

21. The method of claim 20, further comprising:

determining whether an envelope is present; and

tagging the envelope and any associated headers.

22. The method of claim 21, further comprising:

determining whether processing instructions are present in the message; and

tagging the processing instructions.

23. The method of claim 22, further comprising:

determining that a first transaction does not match any rule of the rules data structure; and

tagging the first transaction as unknown; and

wherein transferring the message comprises transferring the message to a default destination responsive to the tagging as unknown.

24. The method of claim 20 further comprising:

receiving the set of rules.

25. The method of claim 24 further comprising:

detecting changes in the set of rules.

28. The method of claim 20 further comprising:

converting the message into a second message;

transforming the second message into a third message; and

processing the third message to form a transformed plurality of transactions.

29. The method of claim 20 further comprising:

converting the message into a second message using custom scripts and default processing;

transforming the second message into a third message using custom scripts and default processing; and

processing the third message to form a transformed plurality of transactions using custom scripts and default processing.

30. The method of claim 20 further comprising:

validating the message.

31. The method of claim 30 wherein:

validating the message includes determining if each transaction of the plurality of transactions is supported by the system.

32. The method of claim 20 further comprising:

detecting errors in the message.

33. The method of claim 20 further comprising:

providing additional information to the first or second applications.

34. The method of claim 33 wherein:

additional information includes transformation map information.

35. The method of claim 33 wherein:

additional information includes transaction operation information.

36. The method of claim 33 wherein:

additional information includes an internal representation of data hierarchy information of the message.

37. The method of claim 36 wherein:

the internal representation is configurable based on the set of rules.

38. A machine-readable medium embodying instructions, which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method of dispatching information within a system, the method comprising:

receiving a message;

extracting source or destination address information from the message;

determining whether a first application or a second application of the system is a destination for the message from the source and destination address information and based on processing rules; and

routing the message to the first or second application of the system based on the source or destination address information and based on the processing rules.

43. The machine-readable medium of claim 38 further embodying instructions which, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to perform the method further comprising:

converting the message into a second message;

transforming the second message into a third message; and

processing the third message to form a set of transactions.

44. The machine-readable medium of claim 38 further embodying instructions which, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to perform the method further comprising:

converting the message into a second message using custom scripts and default processing;

transforming the second message into a third message using custom scripts and default processing; and

processing the third message to form a set of transactions using custom scripts and default processing.

45. An apparatus, comprising:

a receiver module to receive a message;

an extractor module to extract source or destination address information from a plurality of transactions of the message;

a determination module to determine whether a first application or a second application of a system is a destination from the source and destination address information and based on a set of processing rules; and

a router module to route the message to the first or second applications of the system based on the source or destination address and based on the processing rules.

48. The apparatus of claim 45 further comprising:

a converter module to convert the message into a second message, the converter module serving as the destination;

a transformer module to transform the second message into a third message; and

a processor module to process the third message to form a transformed plurality of transactions.

49. The apparatus of claim 45 wherein:

a converter module to convert the message into a second message using custom scripts and default processing, the converter module serving as the destination;

a transformer module to transform the second message into a third message using custom scripts and default processing; and

a processor module to process the third message to form a plurality of transactions using custom scripts and default processing.
