Abstract

The claimed subject matter provides systems and/or methods that facilitate remotely controlling a wireless lighting module. The wireless lighting module can include a power source such as a battery, a solar cell, and the like as well as an array of light emitting diodes (LEDs). The LEDs can be controlled based upon a received input (e.g., communicated by way of a radio frequency signal, an infrared signal, . . . ). For example, the input can be obtained from a remote control, a sensor, a differing wireless lighting module, an radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, and so forth. The input can be utilized to switch one or more LEDs on or off, change the intensity or color of illumination, modulate illumination, alter the direction of illumination, etc.

Claims

1. A wireless lighting system, comprising:

a wireless lighting module that includes a battery, at least one light emitting diode, and a receiver; and

a remote control that includes a battery and a transmitter, wherein the remote control is configured to wirelessly communicate with the receiver of the wireless lighting module to activate, deactivate, or modulate illumination of the at least one light emitting diode.

2. The system of claim 1, the transmitter of the remote control sends a radio frequency input signal to the receiver of the wireless lighting module.

3. The system of claim 1, the transmitter of the remote control sends an infrared input signal to the receiver of the wireless lighting module.

4. The system of claim 1, the transmitter of the remote control transfers a channel number corresponding to the wireless lighting module with a command to active, deactivate, or modulate the illumination.

5. The system of claim 1, the remote control communicates with the wireless lighting module to adjust a color or a brightness of the at least one light emitting diode.

6. The system of claim 1, the wireless lighting module further comprises a housing that includes a mounting device.

7. The system of claim 6, the housing further includes at least a portion that is moveable to allow for directing the illumination of the at least one light emitting diode.

8. The system of claim 1, the wireless lighting module further comprises a light-transmitting cover.

9. A wireless lighting apparatus, comprising:

an interface component that receives an input;

a state modification component that utilizes the input to generate an instruction to change a state of at least one light emitting diode; and

a battery that supplies power to the interface component, the state modification component, and the at least one light emitting diode.

10. The system of claim 9, the interface component receives the input wirelessly from a disparate device via a radio frequency signal or an infrared signal.

11. The system of claim 10, the disparate device is a remote control, a sensor, a disparate wireless lighting apparatus, or a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag.

12. The system of claim 11, the sensor being an infrared sensor, a light sensor, a proximity sensor, an acoustic sensor, a motion sensor, a carbon monoxide detector, a smoke detector, a thermal sensor, an electromagnetic sensor, a mechanical sensor, or a chemical sensor.

13. The system of claim 9, the state modification component evaluates whether the input exceeds a threshold to determine whether to generate the instruction to turn the at least one light emitting diode on or off.

14. The system of claim 9, further comprising a timer component that delays state changes after receipt of the input, effectuates state changes after an amount of time or enables state changes at a particular time.

15. The system of claim 9, further comprising an intensity regulation component that alters a brightness of the at least one light emitting diode based upon the received input.

16. The system of claim 9, further comprising a wavelength control component that changes a color of light generated by the at least one light emitting diode as a function of the received input.

17. A method that facilitates selectively emitting light in accordance with a wireless input, comprising:

wirelessly receiving an input to control illumination of an array of light emitting diodes powered by a battery;

analyzing the input to determine whether to alter the illumination of the array of light emitting diodes; and

selectively adjusting the illumination of the array of light emitting diodes based on the analyzed input.

18. The method of claim 17, selectively adjusting the illumination further comprises switching on, switching off, increasing brightness, decreasing brightness, changing color, or altering modulation associated with illumination of the array.

19. The method of claim 17, further comprising wirelessly receiving the input from a remote control, a sensor, a disparate wireless lighting apparatus, or a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag by way of a radio frequency signal or an infrared signal.

20. The method of claim 19, further comprising coordinating adjustment of the illumination with the disparate wireless lighting apparatus.
