Abstract

A computer readable medium can be a metadata-based description of the configuration of an RFID reader. An RFID edge server can interact with the metadata-based description to configure the RFID reader.

Claims

1. A computer readable medium with a metadata-based description of the configuration of an RFID reader, wherein an RFID edge server is adapted to interact with the metadata-based description to configure the RFID reader.

2. The computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the metadata-based description includes configuration parameters.

3. The computer readable medium of claim 2, wherein the configuration parameters include parameter name.

4. The computer readable medium of claim 2, wherein the configuration parameters include description.

5. The computer readable medium of claim 2, wherein the configuration parameters include type.

6. The computer readable medium of claim 2, wherein the configuration parameters includes default value.

7. The computer readable medium of claims 1, wherein the RFID edge server uses a console to input configuration data.

8. The computer readable medium of claim 7, wherein there are different metadata based descriptions are used for different RFID readers.

9. The computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the RFID edge server converts data input by users into a configuration for an RFID readers.

10. The computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the metadata is used to produce an interface to get configuration data.

11. The computer readable medium of claims 1, wherein at least one filter has a metadata-based description.

12. A computer based method comprising:

receiving a metadata based description of RFID reader and configuration; and

using the metadata based description to produce an interface to input a configuration for the RFID reader.

13. The computer based method of claim 12, wherein the metadata-based description includes configuration parameters.

14. The computer based method of claim 13, wherein the configuration parameters include parameter name.

15. The computer based method of claim 13, wherein the configuration parameters include description.

16. The computer based method of claim 13, wherein the configuration parameters include type.

17. The computer based method of claim 13, wherein the configuration parameters include default value.

18. The computer based method of claims 12, wherein the RFID edge server uses a console to input configuration data.

19. The computer based method of claim 18, wherein there are different metadata based descriptions are used for different RFID readers.

20. The computer based method of claim 12, wherein the RFID edge server converts data input by users into a configuration for an RFID readers.

21. The computer based method of claim 12, wherein the metadata is used to produce an interface to get configuration data.

22. The computer based method of claims 12, wherein at least one filter has a metadata-based description.
