covering a portion of a cardiac electrode with a coating, wherein the coating comprising at least one conductive matrix polymer layer comprising sulfonated polytetrafluorethylene, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)poly(styrenesulfonate), polypyrrole polystyrene sulfonate, or a combination thereof; and
