Abstract

The present invention relates to a device (1) for medical use, of the prefilled ready-to-use syringe type, comprising a tubular body (2) comprising, at its distal end (4), a tip (5) to take a needle and, at its proximal end (12), a flange (13), a piston (3) able to slide inside the tubular body (2) and arranged in an initial position defining, with the tubular body (2), an internal working volume (8) at least partially filled with a medicinal liquid (9), a rod (11) for actuating the piston extending beyond the proximal end of the tubular body, characterized in that a rigid cover (15) is attached and fixed in a definitive way to the flange (13) and has a central opening (23) for the free translational passage of the actuating rod (11), and the said cover (15) forms or comprises means of stopping the actuating rod (11) in the proximal direction, and in that a plug (14) is arranged to translate freely in the tubular body (2) between the piston (3) and the proximal end (12) of the said body, said plug (14) being made of material resistant to puncturing with a needle.

8. A tamper-evident syringe (1) comprising a tubular body (2) having a piston (3) able to slide inside the tubular body (2) and arranged in an initial position defining, with the tubular body (2), a reservoir (8) for containing a liquid (9), a rod (11) for actuating the piston (3) and extending beyond a proximal end (12) of the body (2), a tip (5) at a distal end (4) of the body (2) to accept a needle and, a flange (13) defined at the proximal end (12) of the body (2), characterized in that the syringe comprises tamper-evident means (15, 21) securable about the flange (13), the tamper-evident means (15, 21) further comprising a lower platform (22) defining a first opening (24) having a first size and shape, and an upper platform (25) defining a second opening (26) having a second size and shape, the first opening having a size and shape corresponding to the external dimensions of the body (2) and the second opening (26) having a size and shape to permit free movement of the rod (11) therein and to prevent removal of the piston (3) from the body (2).

9. A tamper-evident syringe according to claim 8, characterized in that the tamper-evident means (15, 21) comprises two halves (211, 212) securable to each other about the flange (13).

10. A tamper-evident syringe according to claim 8, characterized in that the tamper-evident means (15, 21) is plastic.

11. A tamper-evident syringe according to claim 8, characterized in that the tamper-evident means (15, 21) is metal.

12. A tamper-evident syringe according to claim 11, characterized in that the tamper-evident means (15, 21) is aluminum and is crimped to the flange (13).

13. A tamper-evident syringe according to claim 11, characterized in that the tamper-evident means (15, 21) is stainless steel.

14. A tamper-evident syringe according to claim 9, characterized in that each of the two halves (211, 212) of the tamper-evident means (15, 21) are complementarily sized and shaped so as to be securable together.

A tamper-evident syringe according to claim 8, characterized in that it further comprises a plug (14) provided in the body (2) at or near a proximal side of the piston (3), the plug (14) being made of material resistant to puncturing with a needle and having means for coupling with the rod (11).

16. A tamper-evident syringe according to claim 8, characterized in that it further comprises means (16) for preventing removal of the rod (11) from the body (2), said means (16) being provided on the rod (2) between the tamper-evident means (15, 21) and the plug (14).
