Abstract

A method is provided. The method develops code for an enterprise module in an enterprise module development environment. Further, the method modifies the code to output customized code that runs in an enterprise module production environment. In addition, the method deploys the customized code to the enterprise module production environment.

Claims

1. A method of producing an enterprise module, the method comprising:

developing code for the enterprise module in an enterprise module development environment;

modifying the code to output customized code that runs in an enterprise module production environment; and

deploying the customized code to the enterprise module production environment.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the enterprise module development environment shares a set of resources with the enterprise module production environment.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the set of resources includes an application server.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the set of resources includes a repository.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the set of resources includes a directory.

6. The method of claim 2, wherein the set of resources includes a database.

7. The method of claim 2, wherein the set of resources includes a Software Configuration Management document.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising deploying a dependency relationship to the enterprise module production environment, the dependency relationship being between the enterprise module and another enterprise module.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the modification includes user interaction.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the modification includes an automated process and user interaction.

11. A system comprising:

a unit that develops code for an enterprise module in an enterprise module development environment;

a unit that automatically modifies the code, without user interaction, to output customized code that runs in an enterprise module production environment; and

a unit that deploys the customized code to the enterprise module production environment.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the enterprise module development environment shares a set of resources with the enterprise module production environment.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the set of resources includes an application server.

14. The system of claim 12, wherein the set of resources includes a repository.

15. The system of claim 12, wherein the set of resources includes a directory.

16. The system of claim 12, wherein the set of resources includes a database.

17. The system of claim 12, wherein the set of resources includes a Software Configuration Management document.

18. The system of claim 12, further comprising a unit that deploys a dependency relationship to the enterprise module production environment, the dependency relationship being between the enterprise module and another enterprise module.

19. A machine readable medium having stored thereon a set of instructions which when executed perform a method comprising:

developing code for an enterprise module in an enterprise module development environment;

modifying the code to output customized testing code that is customized to run in an enterprise module testing environment; and

testing the customized testing code in the enterprise module testing environment;

modifying the customized testing code to output customized production code that is customized to run in an enterprise module production environment; and

deploying the customized production code to the enterprise module production environment.

20. The machine readable medium of claim 19, further comprising deploying a dependency relationship to the enterprise module testing environment, the dependency relationship being between the enterprise module and another enterprise module.

21. The machine readable medium of claim 19, further comprising deploying a dependency relationship to the enterprise module production environment, the dependency relationship being between the enterprise module and another enterprise module.
