Abstract

Provided Web broadcast information is managed by annotation markers. At least one marker is received that annotates the audio and/or video information and the annotated audio and/or video information is saved in an electronically searchable file.

Claims

1. A method of managing information, comprising:

providing audio and/or video information via a Web broadcast;

receiving at least one marker that annotates the audio and/or video information; and

saving the annotated audio and/or video information in an electronically searchable file.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein receiving the at least one marker comprises receiving the at least one marker during the Web broadcast.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein receiving the at least one marker comprises:

inserting the at least one marker into the audio and/or video information in response to input from a Web broadcast listener.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein receiving the at least one marker comprises:

presenting a Web broadcast listener with a user interface for entering the at least one marker; and

receiving the at least one marker from the Web broadcast listener via the user interface.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one marker comprises a graphic, a sound, and/or a keyword.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one marker comprises a Universal Resource Locator (URL) address.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

presenting access to the annotated audio and/or video information in a visual medium that comprises a path with a plurality of partitions.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein saving the annotated audio and/or video information in the electronically searchable file comprises:

saving the at least one marker in the electronically searchable file;

wherein the electronically searchable file is separate from a file containing the audio and/or video information, but is associated therewith.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one marker is substantially undetectable by manual review.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one marker is substantially detectable by manual review.

11. A system for managing information, comprising:

a server that is configured to provide audio and/or video information via a Web broadcast, to receive at least one marker that annotates the audio and/or video information, and to save the annotated audio and/or video information in an electronically searchable file.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the server is further configured to receive the at least one marker during the Web broadcast.

13. The system of claim 11, wherein the server is further configured to insert the at least one marker into the audio and/or video information in response to input from a Web broadcast listener.

14. The system of claim 11, wherein the server is further configured to present a Web broadcast listener with a user interface for entering the at least one marker, and to receive the at least one marker from the Web broadcast listener via the user interface.

15. The system of claim 11, wherein the at least one marker comprises a graphic, a sound, and/or a keyword.

16. The system of claim 11, wherein the at least one marker comprises a Universal Resource Locator (URL) address.

17. The system of claim 11, further comprising:

a data processing system that is configured to present access to the annotated audio information in a visual medium that comprises a path with a plurality of partitions.

18. A computer program product for managing information, comprising:

a computer readable storage medium having computer readable program code embodied therein, the computer readable program code comprising;

computer readable program code configured to provide audio and/or video information via a Web broadcast;

computer readable program code configured to receive at least one marker that annotates the audio and/or video information; and

computer readable program code configured to save the annotated audio and/or video information in an electronically searchable file.

19. The computer program product of claim 18, wherein the computer readable program code configured to receive the at least one marker comprises computer readable program code configured to receive the at least one marker during the Web broadcast.

20. The computer program product of claim 18, wherein the computer readable program code configured to receive the at least one marker comprises:

computer readable program code configured to insert the at least one marker into the audio and/or video information in response to input from a Web broadcast listener.
