Abstract

A method includes receiving personalized content from a plurality of content sources. The personalized content is based on user input. The method further includes receiving a personalized advertisement based on user input, and creating a customized publication including the personalized content and the personalized advertisement.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving personalized content from a plurality of content sources, the personalized content being based on user input;

receiving a personalized advertisement based on user input; and

creating a customized publication including the personalized content and the personalized advertisement.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving user input regarding subject matter of interest.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

searching the plurality of content sources based on a personalized content search query;

recommending content based on results of the personalized content search query; and

receiving user input selecting the personalized content from the recommended content.

4. The method of claim 3, further comprising:

storing the personalized content search query.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

searching advertisements based on a personalized advertisement search query;

recommending advertisements based on results of the personalized advertisement search query; and

receiving user input selecting the personalized advertisement from the recommended advertisements.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

storing the personalized advertisement search query.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving content from a plurality of content providers;

aggregating the content; and

receiving the personalized content from the aggregated content.

8. The method of claim 7, further comprising:

indexing and grouping the aggregated content.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising

receiving advertisements from a plurality of advertisers;

aggregating the advertisements; and

receiving the personalized advertisement from the aggregated advertisements.

10. The method of claim 9, further comprising:

indexing and grouping the aggregated advertisements.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the receiving personalized content comprises receiving user input specifying the content to be included in the customized publication.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein receiving the personalized advertisement comprises receiving user input specifying the advertisement to be included in the customized publication.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the personalized advertisement is based on the user selected content.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein the personalized advertisement is based on user information.

15. The method of claim 1, wherein the personalized advertisement is automatically generated based on the user selected content.

16. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

recommending advertisements based on user information; and

receiving user input specifying the personalized advertisement from the recommended advertisements.

17. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

recommending advertisements based on the personalized content; and

receiving user input specifying the personalized advertisement from the recommended advertisements.

18. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

recommending advertisements based on a content search query; and

receiving user input specifying the personalized advertisement from the recommended advertisements.

19. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving user input specifying a distribution format for the customized publication.

20. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

providing the customized publication in a hard copy format.

21. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

providing the customized publication in a machine viewable format.

22. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

searching content based on user preferences;

recommending content based on results of the content search; and

receiving user input selecting the personalized content from the recommended content.

23. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

searching advertisements based on user preferences;

recommending advertisements based on results of the advertisement search; and

receiving user input selecting the personalized advertisement from the recommended advertisements.

24. A method comprising:

receiving personalized content from a plurality of content sources, the personalized content being based on user input;

receiving a personalized advertisement based on the personalized content; and

creating a customized publication including the personalized content and the personalized advertisement.

25. A method comprising:

receiving personalized content from a plurality of content sources, the personalized content being based on user input;

receiving a personalized advertisement based on user input; and

creating an on-demand point-of-sale printed publication including the personalized content and the personalized advertisement.

26. A method comprising:

receiving personalized content from a plurality of content sources, the personalized content being based on user input;

receiving a personalized advertisement based on the personalized content; and

creating a printed publication including the user selected content and the relevant advertisement.

27. A method comprising:

receiving content from a plurality of content providers;

aggregating the content;

receiving personalized content from the aggregated content;

receiving advertisements from a plurality of advertisers;

aggregating the advertisements;

receiving a personalized advertisement from the aggregated advertisements; and

creating a customized publication including the personalized content and the personalized advertisement.

28. The method of claim 27, further comprising at least one of:

associating the aggregated content with the aggregated advertisements;

associating the aggregated content with user information;

or

associating the aggregated advertisements with user information.

29. The method of claim 27, further comprising:

indexing and grouping the aggregated content; and

indexing and grouping the aggregated advertisements.

30. A method comprising:

producing a content search query based on user information;

retrieving personalized content based on the content search query;

producing an advertisement search query based on user information;

retrieving a personalized advertisement based on the advertisement search query; and

creating a customized publication including the personalized content and the personalized advertisement.

31. A system comprising:

means for receiving content from a plurality of content providers;

means for receiving personalized content from the content;

means for receiving advertisements from a plurality of advertisers;

means for associating the content with the advertisements;

means for receiving a personalized advertisement from the advertisements based on the association of the personalized advertisement and the personalized content; and

means for creating a customized publication including the personalized content and the personalized advertisement.

32. A system comprising:

means for receiving user input specifying personalized content;

means for receiving user input specifying a personalized advertisement relevant to the personalized content; and

means for creating a customized publication including the personalized content and the personalized advertisement.

33. A device comprising:

a memory to store instructions; and

a processor to execute the instructions in the memory to;

receive personalized content,

receive a personalized advertisement based on the personalized content, and

create a customized publication including the personalized content and the personalized advertisement.

34. A computer-readable medium that stores computer-executable instructions, comprising:

instructions for receiving personalized content;

instructions for receiving a personalized advertisement based on the personalized content; and

instructions for creating a customized publication including the personalized content and the personalized advertisement.

35. A method comprising:

associating a plurality of content search queries with a user;

periodically searching content using the plurality of content search queries;

associating a plurality of advertisement search queries with a user;

periodically searching advertisements using the plurality of advertisement search queries; and

periodically providing the selected content and advertisements to a customized publication associated with the user using results from the periodic searches of the content and the advertisements.
