EDITABLE TABLE MODIFICATION
First Claim
1. A computer-implemented method of modifying an editable table without communicating with a remote device, the method comprising:
- receiving, at a first device and from a second device, a communication that includes contents configured to be organized in a table, the second device having retrieved the contents from a data repository;
displaying the received contents in the table on a user interface of the first device, the table including multiple rows, wherein one of the rows is configured to remain empty while the table is displayed to indicate a possibility of adding at least one new row to the table;
receiving, while the table is displayed, a user input made by performing an operation in the user interface that indicates the empty row, the user input configured to trigger the new row to be added to the table; and
in response to the user input, adding the new row to the table without first communicating with the second device regarding the addition, the new row being configured so that new contents entered into the new row are to be added to the data repository in a subsequent communication to the second device.

Abstract
In a computing system, a communication that includes contents retrieved from a data repository and configured to be organized in a table is received from a second device. The received contents are displayed in the table on a user interface. The table includes multiple rows, one of which is configured to remain empty while the table is displayed to indicate a possibility of adding a new row to the table. While the table is displayed, a user input that indicates the empty row and is configured to trigger the new row to be added to the table is received. The new row is added to the table without first communicating with the second device regarding the addition. The new row is configured so that new contents entered into the new row are to be added to the data repository in a subsequent communication to the second device.

17. A computer program product tangibly embodied in an information carrier, the computer program product including instructions that, when executed, generate on a display device a graphical user interface for modifying an editable table without communicating with a remote device, the graphical user interface comprising:
a table comprising; (i) multiple rows of data received in a communication from a second device, the data having been retrieved from a data repository by the second device; and (ii) a row configured to remain empty while the table is displayed to indicate a possibility of adding at least one new row to the table; wherein the graphical user interface is configured to receive, while the table is displayed, a user input made by performing an operation in the user interface that indicates the empty row, and add a new row to the table in response to the user input without first communicating with the second device regarding the addition, the new row being configured so that new contents entered into the new row are to be added to the data repository in a subsequent communication to the second device.
