Abstract

The invention concerns an electronic device for providing information (PUB_INFO, PERSON1_INFO) concerning one or more targets (PUB, PERSON1), relative to which target the device is to be aligned in a set manner, and in connection with which device are arranged at least one source (GPS, BM, COMP, TS, MEM) of first information (X, Y, ALT, O_device, IMSI_10.1), including at least a source of position and orientation information, in order to define the position of the device and the target, or for positioning the target and an aimer (CAM, DISP) for aligning the target relative to the device in a set manner, and in connection with which device, second information relating to the target can be arranged, which second information is arranged, in connection with the application of the aimer, to be brought to the attention of the user by the device. The aimer consists of a camera and a viewfinder (CAM, DISP).

Claims

1. An electronic device for providing information concerning one or more targets, relative to which target the device is to be aligned in a set manner, and in connection with which device are arranged

at least one source of first information, including at least a source of position and orientation information, in order to define the position of the device and the target, or for positioning the target and

aiming means for aligning the target relative to the device in a set manner,

and in connection with which device, second information relating to the target can be arranged, which second information is arranged, in connection with the application of the aiming means, to be brought to the attention of the user by means of the device, characterized in that the aiming means consist of

camera means for forming image information and

viewfinder means, by means of which at least the image information formed by camera means is arranged to be brought to the attention of the user.

A device according to claim 1, which additionally includes transmission means for communication in a wireless transmission network, characterized in that the device is arranged with transmission means at least to receive the second information, relating to the target, from the transmission network.

A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the device is additionally arranged with transmission means to send at least part of the first information defining the target and/or the device'"'"'s own position to the transmission network, in order to bring second information concerning one or more targets to the device.

A device according to of claim 1, characterized in that the viewfinder means consist of a display element, by means of which the second information relating to the target are arranged to be brought to the attention of the user and in which the second information relating to the target is arranged in image information.

5. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the second information is arranged to be brought to the attention of the user as a result of aiming operations directed at the target.

A device according to claim 1, characterized in that at least part of the second information concerning one or more targets is arranged to be brought to the device beforehand, the information including additionally position information of the target, by applying which position information the target currently aimed by using the camera means is arranged to be defined in connection with the device.

7. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the second information is arranged to be brought to the attention of the user and/or to the device on request.

8. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the second information concerning the target is arranged to include at least one reference to the transmission network, which when activated is arranged to be downloaded to the device information defined by the reference.

9. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the first information arranged to be sent to the transmission network is position and orientation information, which is arranged to define the target being in the image information and/or the location of the device.

A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the first information arranged to be sent to the transmission network is an identification defining the target, such as, for example, a mobile subscriber identifier, in the direction of which the device is guided to be aimed by applying the second information received from the transmission network.

11. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the second information is arranged to be received on the basis of a set criterion.

12. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the camera means are equipped with a zoom function, in order to increase the definition accuracy of the target.

A method for providing information on one or more targets to an electronic device, relative to which target the device is, as one sub-stage of the method, aimed in a set manner, and in which, as a second sub-stage of the method, definition of position and orientation information is performed by the device, in order to define the position of the device and the target, or to position the target, and in which, as a third sub-stage of the method, the information relating to the target is brought to the attention of the user by means of the device, characterized in that the aiming is performed using the camera means.

14. A method according to claim 13, characterized in that, as one sub-stage of the method, information relating to the target is received from the transmission network.

15. A method according to claim 13, characterized in that, as one sub-stage of the method, at least part of the information defining the target or the device'"'"'s own position is sent to the transmission network, in order to bring information concerning one or more targets to the device.

A method according to claim 13, characterized in that the camera means include viewfinder means, which form of a display element, by means of which information relating to the target is brought to the attention of the user and in which the information relating to the target is fitted in image information.

17. A method according to claim 13, characterized in that the information relating to the target is brought to the attention of the user as a result of the aiming operation aimed at the target.

A method according to claim 13, characterized in that at least part of the information concerning one or more targets is brought to the device beforehand, the information including additionally position information of the target, applying which position information the target currently aimed at using the camera means is defined in connection with the device.

19. A method according to claim 13, characterized in that the information relating to the target is brought to the attention of the user and/or to the device on request.

20. A method according to claim 13, characterized in that the information concerning the target includes at least one reference to the transmission network, which when activated to the device is downloaded the information defined by the reference.

A method according to claim 13, characterized in that to the transmission network is sent as the information identification defining the target, such as, for example, a mobile subscriber identifier, in the direction of which the device is guided to be aimed, by applying information relating to the target received from the transmission network.

22. A method according to claim 13, characterized in that the information concerning the target is received on the basis of a set criterion.

23. A method according to claim 13, characterized in that the zooming is performed using the camera means, in order to increase the definition accuracy of the position of the target.

A system for providing information on one or more targets, in which system includes at least one first device, which can be arranged to be in connection with at least one second device over a transmission network, and which first device can be aligned relative to the target in a set manner, and in connection with which first device are arranged

at least one source of first information, including a source of position and orientation information, in order to define the position of the device and the target, or for positioning the target and

transmission means for communications in a wireless transmission network and

aiming means for aligning the target relative to the device in a set manner,

and in connection with which second device is arranged, or can be arranged to be defined using the device

second information corresponding to the first information and in which system

the device is arranged, using the transmission means to send at least part of the first information defining its position or the target to the second device arranged in the transmission network,

the second device is arranged to send second information corresponding to the first information as a response to the device, and

the device is arranged to receive from the transmission network the second information relating to the target, which second information is arranged, in connection with the application of the aiming means, to be brought to the attention of the user by means of the device,

characterized in that the aiming means consist of

camera means for forming image information and

viewfinder means, by means of which at least the image information formed by the camera means is arranged to be brought to the attention of the user.

25. An electronic device for providing information to a second device belonging to a transmission network, in connection with which device means are arranged for the information, characterized in that the device is arranged to receive information requests from the second device, to collect information corresponding to the request and to return it to the second device that has requested the information.

26. A device according to claim 25, characterized in that the device includes positioning means and that the information request concerns the position of the device.

27. A device according to claim 26, characterized in that the device is a mobile station.

28. A device according to claim 25, characterized in that the device is a server.

29. A program product for providing information on one or more targets to an electronic device, the program product including a storage medium and program code written on the storage medium and executable by using the processor means, which program code is arranged as input to receive the position and orientation information of the device, in order to define the target, characterized in that as aiming means the device includes camera means and that the program code includes

first code means configured to fix the position and orientation of the device in the aiming direction of the camera means and, in addition

second code means configured to bring the information concerning the target to the attention of the user of the device.

A program product according to claim 29, characterized in that the program code includes additionally third code means configured to detect from the information at least one link identifier, which when activated the code means is arranged to form an information request corresponding to the link identifier.

31. A program product according to claim 29, characterized in that the program code includes additionally fourth code means configured to arrange the information concerning the target in the image information formed using the camera means.

32. A program product according to claim 29, characterized in that the program code includes additionally fifth code means configured to form a sign, concerning the target, from the information and to bring it to the attention of the user.

33. A program product according to claim 29, characterized in that the program code includes additionally sixth code means configured to scan the local area of the device, with reference to other electronic devices.

34. A program product according to claim 29, characterized in that the program code includes additionally seventh code means configured to download to the device beforehand at least part of the second information concerning the targets, including additionally position information of the target.

35. A program product according to claim 29, characterized in that the program code includes additionally eighth code means configured to determine whether the device is aimed at the target, to which relates the second information.

36. A program product intended to be executed in an electronic device, for providing information concerning the device to a second electronic device, the program product including a storage medium and program code written on the storage medium to be executed by using processor means, which program code is arranged as input to receive an information request concerning the device, characterized in that the program code includes

first code means configured to define the position of the device at least once and

second code means for transmitting the defined position at least once to the second electronic device.

37. A method for providing information to an electronic device concerning a target equipped with mobile subscriber identification, in which method

the target is defined and a positioning request corresponding to it is sent,

second information stating the position of the target is received,

the position and orientation of the device is defined relative to the second information stating the position of the target and

the position of the target is brought to the attention of the user by means of the device,

characterized in that the position of the target is brought to the attention of the user by applying the camera means.
