Abstract

A system is described for dynamically generating a mobile page related to a revenue generator and formatted for display on a mobile device of a mobile carrier. The system may include a processor, a memory and an interface. The memory may store a mobile request and a data describing a revenue generator. The interface may communicate with a user though a mobile device. The processor may be operatively connected to the interface and the memory, and may receive a mobile request from the user for a page of the revenue generator. The processor may determine whether the requested page is formatted for display on the mobile device. If the requested page is not formatted for display on the mobile device, the processor may generate a page related the revenue generator and formatted for display on the mobile device. The processor may serve the dynamically generated mobile page to the user.

Claims

1. A method for dynamically generating a mobile page related to a revenue generator and formatted for display on a mobile device of a mobile carrier, comprising:

receiving a mobile request for a page of a revenue generator, wherein the request is received from a user on a mobile device of a mobile carrier;

determining whether the requested page of the revenue generator is formatted for display on the mobile device of the mobile carrier;

generating dynamically a mobile page related to a data describing the revenue generator if the requested page of the revenue generator is not formatted for display on the mobile device of the mobile carrier, wherein the dynamically generated mobile page is formatted for display on the mobile device of the mobile carrier; and

serving the dynamically generated mobile page to the user through the mobile device of the mobile carrier.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the mobile request comprises a click through on a mobile advertisement of the revenue generator by the user.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the mobile page is dynamically generated after receiving the mobile request for the page of the revenue generator.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the mobile device comprises a mobile phone.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein the formatting of the dynamically generated mobile page is based a mobile technology supported by the mobile device and the mobile carrier in communication with the mobile device.

6. The method of claim 5 further comprising:

determining the mobile device and mobile carrier the request originated from;

determining the mobile technology supported by the mobile device and the mobile carrier; and

formatting the dynamically generated mobile page based on the mobile technology.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein the generated mobile page contains a phone number of the revenue generator.

8. The method of claim 1 further comprising receiving a notification from the revenue generator that the page of the revenue generator is not formatted for display on the mobile device of the mobile carrier.

9. A method for enabling a revenue generator to advertise on search traffic originating from a mobile carrier independent of whether the revenue generator supports a mobile site formatted for display on a mobile device of the mobile carrier, comprising:

providing a revenue generator with an interface allowing the allowing the revenue generator to indicate whether the revenue generator has a mobile site formatted for display on a mobile device of the mobile carrier;

receiving a mobile advertisement from the revenue generator based on a keyword searched for on the mobile carrier and receiving an indication from the revenue generator that the revenue generator does not have the mobile site formatted for display on the mobile device of the mobile carrier;

serving the advertisement of the revenue generator to a user on the mobile device of the mobile carrier when the user searches for the keyword;

receiving a click through of the advertisement by the user;

generating dynamically a mobile page related to the revenue generator, wherein the dynamically generated mobile page is formatted for display on the mobile device of the mobile carrier; and

serving the dynamically generated mobile page to the user through the mobile device of the mobile carrier.

10. The method of claim 9 wherein the formatting of the dynamically generated mobile page comprises at least one of WML, XHTML, iMode HTML and cHTML.

11. The method of claim 9 wherein the mobile device comprises a mobile phone.

12. The method of claim 9 wherein the formatting of the dynamically generated mobile page is based a mobile technology supported by the mobile device and the mobile carrier in communication with the mobile device.

13. The method of claim 9 wherein the dynamically generated mobile page contains a phone number of the revenue generator.

14. The method of claim 9 wherein the advertisement is served to the user via a short messaging services message.

15. A system for dynamically generating a mobile page related to a revenue generator and formatted for display on a mobile device of a mobile carrier, comprising:

a memory to store a mobile request, and a data describing a revenue generator;

an interface operatively connected to the memory to communicate with a user through a mobile device in communication with a mobile carrier; and

a processor operatively connected to the memory and the interface, the processing for running instructions, wherein the processor receives, via the interface, the mobile request for a page of the revenue generator, determines whether the requested page of the revenue generator is formatted for display on the mobile device of the mobile carrier, generates dynamically a mobile page related to the data describing the revenue generator if the requested page of the revenue generator is not formatted for display on the mobile device of the mobile carrier, wherein the dynamically generated mobile page is formatted for display on the mobile device of the mobile carrier, and serves the dynamically generated mobile page to the user via the interface.

16. The system of claim 15 wherein the mobile request comprises a click through on a mobile advertisement of the revenue generator by the user.

17. The system of claim 16 wherein the mobile advertisement comprises a mobile advertisement in a short messaging services message.

18. The system of claim 15 wherein the mobile device comprises a mobile phone.

19. The system of claim 15 wherein the formatting of the dynamically generated mobile page is based a mobile technology supported by the mobile device and the mobile carrier in communication with the mobile device.

20. The system of claim 15 wherein the dynamically generated mobile page contains a phone number of the revenue generator.
