1. A drive circuit for an ignition element of a safety system, comprising:
- at least one ignition element terminal for connection of the ignition element, a controllable current or voltage source coupled to the at least one ignition element terminal, and a sensor arrangement comprising at least one detector element which is arranged in a current path or adjacent to a current path between the current or voltage source and the at least one ignition element terminal and which has a sensor material designed to vary its color indirectly or directly dependent on a current flowing between the current or voltage source and the ignition element.
