Abstract

One aspect of the disclosed technology determines at least one content extent within an experiential data stream respective to at least one commentary clip, extracts at least one portion of said experiential data stream responsive to the at least one content extent, and stores the at least one portion of said experiential data stream.

Claims

1. A computer controlled method comprising:

determining at least one content extent within an experiential data stream respective to at least one commentary clip;

extracting at least one portion of said experiential data stream responsive to said at least one content extent; and

storing said at least one portion of said experiential data stream as an extracted-experiential data stream.

2. The computer controlled method of claim 1, further comprising selecting said at least one commentary clip associated with said experiential data stream.

3. The computer controlled method of claim 2, wherein said at least one commentary clip is one of a plurality of commentary audio clips each having a respective trigger position and wherein determining said at least one content extent further comprises determining whether said commentary audio clip is enabled.

4. The computer controlled method of claim 1, wherein determining said at least one content extent further comprises one or more of the group consisting of:

determining a presentation mode of said at least one commentary clip;

analyzing audio data to determine an extent of social engagement of one or more audience members;

extending said at least one content extent to a conversation transition;

analyzing video data at least one local audience member to determine an extent of social engagement of said at least one local audience member;

extending said at least one content extent by a predetermined amount; and

extending said at least one content extent to a video scene transition within said experiential data stream.

5. The computer controlled method of claim 1, wherein determining said at least one content extent is responsive to activation of a user selectable control;

6. The computer controlled method of claim 1, further comprising tagging said at least one portion of said experiential data stream responsive to said at least one content extent.

7. The computer controlled method of claim 6, wherein storing said at least one portion of said experiential data stream further comprises one or more of the group consisting of:

storing said at least one portion of said experiential data stream that was tagged;

storing said at least one commentary clip;

establishing a network connection; and

transmitting said at least one portion of said experiential data stream over said network connection.

8. The computer controlled method of claim 1, wherein storing said at least one portion of said experiential data stream stores said at least one portion of said experiential data stream on a data storage media.

9. The computer controlled method of claim 8, wherein said at least one portion of said experiential data stream stored on said data storage media includes one or more of a group consisting of audio data, video data, single image data, audio effect data, and video effect data.

10. The computer controlled method of claim 1, wherein storing said at least one portion of said experiential data stream further comprises storing said at least one commentary clip on a data storage media.

11. The computer controlled method of claim 10, wherein said at least one commentary clip includes a commentary clip from a first audience member, a commentary clip from a second audience member, or both.

12. The computer controlled method of claim 1, wherein said at least one commentary clip is selected from the group consisting of a commentary audio clip, an audio clip, a video of an audience member, an audio of an audience member, text from a chat session with an audience member, text resulting from application of speech recognition to an utterance by an audience member, an animation provided by an audience member, and a still image.

13. The computer controlled method of claim 1, wherein said experiential data stream includes replacement/additional content.

14. An apparatus comprising:

an extent determination logic configured to determine at least one content extent within an experiential data stream respective to at least one commentary clip;

a content extraction logic configured to extract at least one portion of said experiential data stream responsive to said at least one content extent; and

a storage logic configured to store said at least one portion of said experiential data stream extracted by the content extraction logic as an extracted-experiential data stream.

15. The apparatus of claim 14, further comprising a selection logic configured to select said at least one commentary clip associated with said experiential data stream.

The apparatus of claim 15, wherein said at least one commentary clip is one of a plurality of commentary audio clips each having a respective trigger position and wherein the extent determination logic further comprises an enablement detection logic configured to determine whether said commentary audio clip is enabled.

17. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the extent determination logic further comprises one or more of the group consisting of:

a mode detection logic configured to determine a presentation mode of said at least one commentary clip;

a control detection logic configured to detect activation of a user selectable control;

a social engagement determination logic configured to analyze audio data to determine an extent of social engagement of one or more audience members;

an extent expansion logic configured to extend said at least one content extent by a predetermined amount;

a video scene extent expansion logic configured to extend said at least one content extent to a video scene transition within said experiential data stream;

a conversation transition extent expansion logic configured to extend said at least one content extent to a conversation transition; and

a social engagement determination logic configured to analyze video data of at least one local audience member to determine an extent of social engagement of said at least one local audience member.

18. The apparatus of claim 14, further comprising a content marker logic configured to tag said at least one portion of said experiential data stream responsive to said at least one content extent.

19. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein the storage logic further comprises one or more of the group consisting of:

a data stream storage logic configured to store said at least one portion of said experiential data stream that was tagged by the content marker logic;

a commentary storage logic configured to store said at least one commentary clip;

a combination storage logic configured to combine and store said at least one portion of said experiential data stream that was tagged by the content marker logic and said at least one commentary clip; and

a network interface logic configured to establish a network connection; and

further configured to transmit said at least one portion of said experiential data stream over said network connection.

20. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the storage logic stores said at least one portion of said experiential data stream on a data storage media.

21. The apparatus of claim 20, wherein said at least one portion of said experiential data stream stored on said data storage media includes one or more of a group consisting of audio data, video data, single image data, audio effect data, and video effect data.

22. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the storage logic stores said at least one commentary clip on a data storage media.

23. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein said at least one commentary clip includes a commentary clip from a first audience member, a commentary clip from a second audience member, or both.

24. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein said at least one commentary clip is selected from the group consisting of a commentary audio clip, an audio clip, a video of an audience member, an audio of an audience member, text from a chat session with an audience member, text resulting from application of speech recognition to an utterance by an audience member, an animation provided by an audience member, and a still image.

25. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein said experiential data stream includes replacement/additional content.

26. A computer program product comprising:

a computer-usable data carrier providing instructions that, when executed by a computer, cause said computer to perform a method comprising;

determining at least one content extent within an experiential data stream respective to at least one commentary clip;

extracting at least one portion of said experiential data stream responsive to said at least one content extent; and

storing said at least one portion of said experiential data stream as an extracted-experiential data stream.

27. The computer program product of claim 26, further comprising selecting said at least one commentary clip associated with said experiential data stream.

28. The computer program product of claim 27, wherein said at least one commentary clip is one of a plurality of commentary audio clips each having a respective trigger position and wherein determining said at least one content extent further comprises determining whether said commentary audio clip is enabled.

29. The computer program product of claim 26, wherein determining said at least one content extent further comprises one or more of the group consisting of:

determining a presentation mode of said at least one commentary clip;

analyzing audio data to determine an extent of social engagement of one or more audience members;

extending said at least one content extent to a conversation transition;

analyzing video data at least one local audience member to determine an extent of social engagement of said at least one local audience member;

extending said at least one content extent by a predetermined amount; and

extending said at least one content extent to a video scene transition within said experiential data stream.

30. The computer program product of claim 26, wherein determining said at least one content extent is responsive to activation of a user selectable control.

31. The computer program product of claim 26, further comprising tagging said at least one portion of said experiential data stream responsive to said at least one content extent.

32. The computer program product of claim 31, wherein storing said at least one portion of said experiential data stream further comprises one or more of the group consisting of:

storing said at least one portion of said experiential data stream that was tagged;

storing said at least one commentary clip;

establishing a network connection; and

transmitting said at least one portion of said experiential data stream over said network connection.

33. The computer program product of claim 26, wherein storing said at least one portion of said experiential data stream stores said at least one portion of said experiential data stream on a data storage media.

34. The computer program product of claim 33, wherein said at least one portion of said experiential data stream stored on said data storage media includes one or more of a group consisting of audio data, video data, single image data, audio effect data, and video effect data.

35. The computer program product of claim 26, wherein storing said at least one portion of said experiential data stream further comprises storing said at least one commentary clip on a data storage media.

36. The computer program product of claim 35, wherein said at least one commentary clip includes a commentary clip from a first audience member, a commentary clip from a second audience member, or both.

37. The computer program product of claim 26, wherein said at least one commentary clip is selected from the group consisting of a commentary audio clip, an audio clip, a video of an audience member, an audio of an audience member, text from a chat session with an audience member, text resulting from application of speech recognition to an utterance by an audience member, an animation provided by an audience member, and a still image.

38. The computer program product of claim 26, wherein said experiential data stream includes replacement/additional content.
