Abstract

A method for preparing error entries of the user of a data bus in a motor vehicle is provided. When an error is detected, the detecting user is put into an error state and outputs an error message to a second user, a request to prepare an error entry is output by the second user to the detecting user after receiving such an error message as a function of at least one predefined condition, and an error entry is instigated by the detecting user in case of receiving such a request.

Claims

1. A method for preparing error entries of the user of a data bus in a motor vehicle, comprising the acts of:

placing a detecting user, upon detection of an error, into an error state and outputting an error message to a second user;

outputting a request to prepare an error entry to the detecting user by the second user after receiving the error message as a function of at least one predefined condition; and

instigating an error entry by the detecting user when receiving the request to prepare the error entry.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein errors which are detected by one of the users are assigned to one of at least two classes, and upon detecting an error of a specific class, the detecting user immediately instigates an error entry.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein an error entry is prepared locally at the detecting user.

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein an error entry is instigated at the third user by the detecting user.

5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the error recognition and/or the request to perform an error entry is performed in a cascaded way.

6. The method according to claim 1, wherein the first user is lower-order than the second user in a hierarchical structure.

7. The method according to claim 4, wherein the first user is higher-order than the third user in a hierarchical structure.

8. The method according to claim 1, wherein an error state of the detecting user is canceled after the expiration of a predefined time constant without receiving a request of the second user and/or after the occurrence of at least one predefined event, in particular the cessation of the error.

9. The method according to claim 1, wherein at earliest in the case of an error entry, a warning instruction is output to the driver of the motor vehicle.

10. The method according to claim 9, wherein the warning instruction is instigated by the second user quasi-simultaneously with the output of the request to prepare an error entry.
