Abstract

A system, method, and computer program product is disclosed for tagging a media/multimedia file created by a device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader with RFID transponder tag content data. The RFID transponder tag reader equipped device creates a media/multimedia file and determines whether a data containing RFID transponder tag is present and within range of the RFID transponder tag reader. If so, a connection is established between the data containing RFID transponder tag and the RFID transponder tag reader such that the data from the RFID transponder tag is received via the RFID transponder tag reader. The received data is then attached to the media/multimedia file to create a tagged media/multimedia file.

Claims

1. A method of tagging a media/multimedia file created by a device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader with RFID transponder tag content data comprising:

creating a media file;

determining whether a data containing RFID transponder tag is present and within range of the RFID transponder tag reader;

establishing a connection between the data containing RFID transponder tag and the RFID transponder tag reader;

receiving the data from the RFID transponder tag via the RFID transponder tag reader; and

attaching the received RFID transponder tag data to the media/multimedia file to create a tagged media/multimedia file.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader is a mobile camera phone.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader is a digital camera.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader is a digital video camera.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein the data contained by the RFID transponder tag is text.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein the data contained by the RFID transponder tag is audio.

7. A computer program product embodied on a computer readable storage medium for tagging a media/multimedia file created by a device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader with RFID transponder tag content data, the computer program product comprising:

computer program code for creating a media/multimedia file;

computer program code for determining whether a data containing RFID transponder tag is present and within range of the RFID transponder tag reader;

computer program code for establishing a connection between the data containing RFID transponder tag and the RFID transponder tag reader;

computer program code for receiving the data from the RFID transponder tag via the RFID transponder tag reader; and

computer program code for attaching the received RFID transponder tag data to the media/multimedia file to create a tagged media/multimedia file.

8. The computer program product of claim 7 wherein the device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader is a mobile camera phone.

9. The computer program product of claim 7 wherein the device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader is a digital camera.

10. The computer program product of claim 7 wherein the device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader is a digital video camera.

11. The computer program product of claim 7 wherein the data contained by the RFID transponder tag is text.

12. The computer program product of claim 7 wherein the data contained by the RFID transponder tag is audio.

13. A system for tagging a media/multimedia file created by a device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader with RFID transponder tag content data, the computer program product comprising:

means for creating a media/multimedia file;

means for determining whether a data containing RFID transponder tag is present and within range of the RFID transponder tag reader;

means for establishing a connection between the data containing RFID transponder tag and the RFID transponder tag reader;

means for receiving the data from the RFID transponder tag via the RFID transponder tag reader; and

means for attaching the received RFID transponder tag data to the media/multimedia file to create a tagged media/multimedia file.

14. The system of claim 13 wherein the device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader is a mobile camera phone.

15. The system of claim 13 wherein the device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader is a digital camera.

16. The system of claim 13 wherein the device possessing an RFID transponder tag reader is a digital video camera.

17. The system of claim 13 wherein the data contained by the RFID transponder tag is text.

18. The system of claim 13 wherein the data contained by the RFID transponder tag is audio.
