Abstract

A wireless printer system includes a wireless transceiver that generates a baseband signal based on a received radio frequency signal. A first system on a chip communicates with the wireless transceiver and includes a system on a chip. The system on a chip includes a wireless interface module and an imaging module. The wireless interface module processes the baseband signal to generate a print data signal via a wireless interface software. The imaging module processes the print data signal to generate a print image signal via an imaging software.

Claims

1. A wireless printer system comprising:

a wireless transceiver that generates a baseband signal based on a received radio frequency signal; and

a first system on a chip that communicates with said wireless transceiver and comprises;

a wireless interface module that processes said baseband signal to generate a print data signal via a wireless interface software; and

an imaging module that processes said print data signal to generate a print image signal via an imaging software.

2. The wireless printer system of claim 1 wherein said first system on a chip includes a central processing unit.

3. The wireless printer system of claim 1 further comprising a system in a package that comprises said first system on a chip.

4. The wireless printer system of claim 3 wherein said system in a package comprises memory that communicates with said wireless interface module and said imaging module.

5. The wireless printer system of claim 4 wherein said memory includes a second system on a chip.

6. The wireless printer system of claim 5 wherein said second system on a chip comprises said wireless interface software and said imaging software.

7. The wireless printer system of claim 4 wherein said memory comprises wireless interface software and imaging software.

8. The wireless printer system of claim 3 wherein said system in a package comprises a memory integrated circuit that stores wireless interface software and printer imaging software and data.

9. The wireless printer system of claim 3 wherein said system in a package comprises at least one component of said wireless transceiver.

10. The wireless printer system of claim 3 wherein said system in a package comprises at least one component of said wireless transceiver selected from a receiver, a transmitter, a low noise amplifier, and a power amplifier.

11. The wireless printer system of claim 3 wherein said system in a package comprises a plurality of dice.

12. The wireless printer system of claim 11 wherein said plurality of dice comprise a transceiver die and a memory die.

13. The wireless printer system of claim 1 wherein said first system on a chip comprises a network processing module.

14. The wireless printer system of claim 1 wherein said first system on a chip comprises at least one peripheral processing module.

15. The wireless printer system of claim 1 wherein said first system on a chip comprises at least one input/output (I/O) processing module.

16. A printer comprising the wireless printer system of claim 1 and further comprising a print mechanism that prints based on said print image signal.

17. A method of operating a wireless printer system comprising:

generating a baseband signal based on a received radio frequency signal via a wireless transceiver; and

communicating with said wireless transceiver via a system on a chip;

processing said baseband signal to generate a print data signal on said system on a chip using a wireless interface software; and

processing said print data signal to generate a print image signal on said system on a chip using imaging software.

18. The method of claim 17 comprising generating said print data signal and said print image signal via a central processing unit.

19. The method of claim 17 comprising communicating with said wireless transceiver via a system in a package that includes said system on a chip.

20. The method of claim 19 comprising communicating with said wireless interface module and said imaging module via memory that is included in said system in a package.

21. The method of claim 19 comprising communicating with said wireless interface module and said imaging module via said wireless interface software and said imaging software, which are stored in said memory.

22. The method of claim 17 comprising:

generating said print data signal and said print image signal via a printer; and

printing based on said print image signal.

23. A wireless printer system comprising:

wireless transceiving means for generating a baseband signal based on a received radio frequency signal; and

a first system on a chip that communicates with said wireless transceiving means and comprises;

wireless interface means for processing said baseband signal to generate a print data signal via a wireless interface software; and

imaging means for processing said print data signal to generate a print image signal via an imaging software.

24. The wireless printer system of claim 23 wherein said first system on a chip includes a central processing unit.

25. The wireless printer system of claim 23 further comprising a system in a package that comprises said first system on a chip.

26. The wireless printer system of claim 25 wherein said system in a package comprises storing means for communicating with said wireless interface means and said imaging means.

27. The wireless printer system of claim 26 wherein said storing means includes a second system on a chip.

28. The wireless printer system of claim 27 wherein said second system on a chip comprises said wireless interface software and said imaging software.

29. The wireless printer system of claim 26 wherein said storing means comprises wireless interface software and imaging software.

30. The wireless printer system of claim 25 wherein said system in a package comprises storing means that stores wireless interface software and printer imaging software and data.

31. The wireless printer system of claim 25 wherein said system in a package comprises at least one component of said wireless transceiving means.

32. The wireless printer system of claim 25 wherein said system in a package comprises at least one component of said wireless transceiving means selected from a receiver, a transmitter, a low noise amplifier, and a power amplifier.

33. The wireless printer system of claim 25 wherein said system in a package comprises a plurality of dice.

34. The wireless printer system of claim 33 wherein said plurality of dice comprise a transceiver die and a memory die.

35. The wireless printer system of claim 23 wherein said first system on a chip comprises a network processing module.

36. The wireless printer system of claim 23 wherein said first system on a chip comprises at least one peripheral processing module.

37. The wireless printer system of claim 23 wherein said first system on a chip comprises at least one input/output (I/O) processing module.

38. A printer comprising the wireless printer system of claim 23 and further comprising a print means for printing based on said print image signal.
