Abstract

A method to provide lawful interception of a device in a network, the network comprising means to define Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN), wherein a lawful interception device of the network defines a Virtual Local Area Network where at least the device to intercept and the lawful interception device are members.

Claims

1. A method to provide lawful interception of a device in a network, the network comprising means to define Virtual Local Area Networks, wherein a lawful interception device of the network defines a Virtual Local Area Network where at least the device to intercept and the lawful interception device are members.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the lawful interception device acts as a switch to a switch in the network.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the Generic Attribute Registration Protocol (GARP) Virtual Local Area Network Registration Protocol (GVRP) is used to define a Virtual Local Area Network between the lawful interception device and the device to intercept

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the lawful interception device and the device to intercept are in different static broadcast domains.

5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the lawful interception device and the device to intercept are in the same static broadcast domain.

6. A customer premises equipment (CPE) comprising means to join a Virtual Local Area Network.

8. The customer premises equipment according to claim 6 comprising means to exchange information by using Generic Attribute Registration Protocol (GARP) Virtual Local Area Network Registration Protocol (GVRP).

7. A lawful interception device comprising means to act as a switch.

9. The lawful interception device according to claim 7 comprising means to exchange information by using Generic Attribute Registration Protocol (GARP) Virtual Local Area Network Registration Protocol (GVRP).
