Abstract

A method that enables an internet user to determine whether an image viewed truly represents the color, clarity, and depiction of the item the image represents. A test pattern-like graphic, made up of a series of bars, shapes, lines, and shadings, is photographed or scanned alongside an item and published to the internet. The viewer compares the published graphic with a hardcopy of the same graphic. Inconsistencies in depiction between the two graphics enable the viewer to determine the extent to which the image appearing alongside the published graphic fairly represents the item the image represents. Revenue is generated through licensing of the graphic to both internet displayers and viewers as well as advertising space on the graphic. The graphic can appear in different versions and sizes through different media: hardcopy, digitized on the internet, broadcast television.

Claims

1. A system for evaluating images displayed on an internet, computer monitors and televisions, comprising:

at least one graphic of a specific pattern and colors wherein two sections of the at least one graphic comprise a Patent Green color and a first section is made up of reproductions of snippets of various U.S. currency and a second section is solid Patent Green.

2. The system according to claim 1 wherein the at least one graphic comprises advertising.

3. The system according to claim 1 wherein the at least one graphic comprises a company'"'"'s logo and/or catch-phrase.

4. A method for evaluating images displayed on an internet, computer monitors and televisions, comprising the steps of:

a licensor offering ownership of and a license to use an object graphic by at least one displayer of items on the internet;

the at least one displayer of items on the internet digitizing the object graphic and at least one item to be displayed thereby creating a digitized combined image; and

the at least one displayer of items on the internet publishing the digitized combined image on an internet page.

5. The method according to claim 4, wherein the step of digitizing further comprises photographing or scanning.

6. The method according to claim 4 further comprising the step of the licensor offering ownership of and license to use a reference graphic to at least one viewer of items on the internet.

7. The method according to claim 6 further comprising the steps of:

the at least one viewer viewing the digitized combined image in at least one internet window on a computer monitor;

the at least one viewer viewing the reference graphic;

the at least one viewer visually inspecting and comparing the color, clarity and depiction of the object graphic in the digitized combined image with the color, clarity and depiction of the reference graphic;

the at least one viewer evaluating the color, clarity and depiction of the item appearing in the digitized combined image to the extent that the color, clarity and depiction of the object graphic matches the color, clarity and depiction of the reference graphic; and

the at least one viewer making a decision of action regarding the item.

8. The method according to claim 4 wherein the object graphic is a printed hardcopy.

9. The method according to claim 6 wherein the reference graphic is a printed hardcopy.

10. The method according to claim 4 further comprising the licensor licensing advertising space on the object graphic to at least one advertiser.

11. The method according to claim 6 further comprising the licensor licensing advertising space on the reference graphic to at least one advertiser.

12. The method according to claim 6 wherein the reference graphic is digitized and displayed on the internet.

13. The method according to claim 4 wherein the object graphic is displayed on television.

14. The method according to claim 6 wherein the reference graphic is digitized by the displayer of items on the internet and published on the internet page.

15. The method according to claim 12 wherein the digitized reference graphic is displayed on at the least one displayer'"'"'s own internet site.

16. The method according to claim 9 wherein at least one hook and loop fastener is used to affix the reference graphic to a frame of at least one computer or television monitor, further comprising the steps of:

affixing one of the hook and the loop to a reverse side of the hardcopy of the reference graphic;

affixing the other of the hook and the loop to the frame of the at least one computer or television monitor;

placing the reference graphic on the frame of the at least one computer or television monitor.

17. The method according to claim 4 further comprising licensor offering a second license to at least one printer to print the object graphic and the reference graphic.

18. A method, relating to evaluating images displayed on an internet in which the color accuracy of a digitized reference graphic is ensured by examining a Patent Green bars part of the digitized reference graphic, comprising the steps of:

at least one licensor or licensee scans or photographs a reference graphic to create the digitized reference graphic;

the digitized reference graphic is published to at least one internet site;

at least one viewer compares a Patent Green color in at least one published graphic with the Patent Green color of at least one U.S. currency note;

to the extent that the Patent Green color of the digitized reference graphic matches the color of the at least one U.S. Currency note, the at least one viewer is able to ascertain the degree to which the color of the digitized reference graphic is reliable.
