1. A difference-weighted spectroscopic somatic monitoring apparatus comprising:
- a first sensor configured to generate, based upon light produced and/or detected by said first sensor, a first somatic output signal that is a function of a first spectroscopic measurement of a first somatic target site;
a second sensor configured to generate, based upon light produced and/or detected by said second sensor, a second somatic output signal that is a function of a second spectroscopic measurement of a second somatic target site; and
, a difference unit configured to compare said first and second somatic signals, and to generate a difference-weighted output signal based upon said comparison.

Abstract
An ischemia detection system in two or more somatic measures, collected simultaneously or near-simultaneously, are provided for direct or computational comparison, in which light from light source A (103A) and source B (103B) is detected by a sensor (155), and a difference-weighted value is determined (167), thereby enhancing the value of the spectroscopic measurements over values taken individually and singly.
