Abstract

The illustrative embodiments provide a method, system, computer program product, and computer implemented method for sending telemetric information to a plurality of vehicles. A second vehicle receives the telemetric information from a first vehicle that indicates a vehicle status, wherein the vehicle status indicates an intent to change movement of the first vehicle by a user of the first vehicle. The second vehicle processes the telemetric information from the first vehicle. The second vehicle then forwards the telemetric information from the first vehicle to a set plurality of vehicles to form forwarded telemetric information.

Claims

1. A method for sending telemetric information to a plurality of vehicles, the method comprising:

receiving the telemetric information at a second vehicle from a first vehicle that indicates a vehicle status, wherein the vehicle status indicates an intent to change movement of the first vehicle by a user of the first vehicle;

processing the telemetric information from the first vehicle by the second vehicle; and

forwarding the telemetric information from the first vehicle by the second vehicle to a set plurality of vehicles to form forwarded telemetric information.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of processing the telemetric information from the first vehicle by the second vehicle comprises:

decoding the telemetric information;

translating the telemetric information to an indicator; and

alerting the user of the second vehicle of the vehicle status of first vehicle.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of forwarding the telemetric information by the second from the first vehicle to a set plurality of vehicles to form forwarded telemetric information comprises:

receiving the telemetric information from the first vehicle; and

updating the telemetric information from the first vehicle to reflect updated vehicle position information.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the step of updating the telemetric information from the first vehicle to reflect updated vehicle position information comprises:

adding telemetric information about a vehicle status of the second vehicle.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving forwarded telemetric information by a set plurality of vehicles; and

responsive to receiving the forwarded telemetric information, alerting users of the set plurality of vehicles of the vehicle status of the first vehicle.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the step of alerting the users of the set plurality of vehicles further comprises:

decoding the telemetric information;

translating the telemetric information into an alert signal; and

sending the alert signal to the users of the plurality of vehicles.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the alert signal is any of a visual indicator, an audio indicator, and a tactile indicator.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the telemetric information is an electrical signal.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the electrical signal is any of an infrared signal, a laser signal, a radio transmission signal, or a sonic signal.

10. A system for communicating telemetric information of a vehicle to a plurality of vehicles, the system comprising:

a receiver for a second vehicle to receive an telemetric information from a first vehicle that indicates a vehicle status of the first vehicle;

a processing device connected to the receiver, wherein the processing device processes the telemetric information from the first vehicle; and

a transmitter in the second vehicle, wherein the transmitter forwards the telemetric information to a set plurality of vehicles.

11. The system of claim 10, wherein the processing device comprises:

a decoder connected to the receiver, wherein the decoder converts the telemetric information to an electrical signal;

a translator connected to the decoder, wherein the translator converts the electrical signal to an input for the indicator; and

an indicator connected to the translator, wherein the indicator alerts the user of the second vehicle of the vehicle status of the first vehicle.

12. The system of claim 10, wherein the system further comprises:

a router connected to the receiver, wherein the router updates the telemetric information from the first vehicle to reflect updated vehicle position information.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the step of updating the telemetric information includes adding telemetric information about a vehicle status of the second vehicle.

14. The system of claim 10, wherein the set plurality of vehicles comprises:

an indicator for alerting the users of the set plurality of vehicles of the vehicle status of the first vehicle.

21. The system of claim 14, wherein the indicator is any of a visual indicator, an audio indicator, and a tactile indicator.

15. A computer program product comprising a computer usable medium having a computer usable program code for communicating telemetric information of a vehicle to a plurality of vehicles, said computer program product comprising:

computer usable program code for receiving the telemetric information at a second vehicle from a first vehicle that indicates a vehicle status, wherein the vehicle status indicates an intent to change movement of the first vehicle by a user of the first vehicle;

computer usable program code for processing the telemetric information from the first vehicle by the second vehicle; and

computer usable program code for forwarding the telemetric information from the first vehicle by the second vehicle to a set plurality of vehicles to form forwarded telemetric information.

16. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein the computer usable program code for processing the telemetric information from the first vehicle by the second vehicle comprises:

computer usable program code for decoding the telemetric information;

computer usable program code for translating the telemetric information to an indicator; and

computer usable program code for alerting the user of the second vehicle of the vehicle status of first vehicle.

17. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein the computer usable program code for forwarding the telemetric information by the second from the first vehicle to a set plurality of vehicles to form forwarded telemetric information comprises:

computer usable program code for receiving the telemetric information from the first vehicle; and

computer usable program code for updating the telemetric information from the first vehicle to reflect updated vehicle position information.

18. The computer program product of claim 17, wherein the computer usable program code for updating the telemetric information from the first vehicle to reflect updated vehicle position information comprises:

computer usable program code for adding telemetric information about a vehicle status of the second vehicle.

19. The computer program product of claim 15, further comprising:

computer usable program code for receiving forwarded telemetric information by a set plurality of vehicles; and

responsive to receiving the forwarded telemetric information, computer usable program code for alerting users of the set plurality of vehicles of the vehicle status of the first vehicle.

20. A computer implemented method for communicating telemetric information of a vehicle to a plurality of vehicles, the computer implemented method comprising:

receiving the telemetric information at a second vehicle from a first vehicle that indicates a vehicle status, wherein the vehicle status indicates an intent to change movement of the first vehicle by a user of the first vehicle;

processing the telemetric information from the first vehicle by the second vehicle;

updating the telemetric information by a second vehicle, wherein the step of updating includes updating vehicle position information;

forwarding the telemetric information from the first vehicle by the second vehicle to the set plurality of vehicles to form forwarded telemetric information;

receiving the forwarded telemetric information by the set plurality of vehicles; and

responsive to receiving the forwarded telemetric information, alerting users of the set plurality of vehicles of the vehicle status of the first vehicle.
